I have worked with dogs with medical conditions such as liver dysfunction, skin allergies, and sensitive stomachs and have chosen to remove the grain from their diets. I had a 14 yr old lab with the liver problems and is why I started choosing to do this and also have a cat and dog with sensitive stomachs that I find do much better on the grain-free diets. Given these conditions, I have started making my own grain-free treats and food adding in vegetables and fresh meat rather than processed. I would be willing to also use these same treats on your dog and even supply them for you if your companion likes them.
