A sensible sitter in a comfy home.

Pet care experience

I have had several jobs throughout my life where I have cared for pets in some way or another. I've worked as a dog bather in a grooming salon, walked dogs full-time for a couple of years, and have performed drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and caged critters (hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits) all throughout. I have been boarding, pet sitting, and dog walking in Panama City Beach for about six years now (first via ads through Craigslist, then through Rover). I have no bias against any breed of dogs, and have experience sitting for both senior and special needs pets. The positive Rover reviews and my list of repeat visits allow me to boast that I love the work, and that the work loves me. If you have any questions in regards to how/if I can care for your special needs pet, please ask! Inquiries are always free.

This is the third time Jean has watched Midnight and the longest span of time. As always she was amazing and very attentive. She is definitely my go to sitter.

I couldn't have asked for a more attentive, responsible, loving caretaker for my teacup Yorkie, Maisey. Maisey is a big part of my family so having that piece of mind, while I was 5k miles away was paramount. Jean sent daily updates and photos and more than that, she quickly adapted to Maisey's behavior. It was evident that she really was paying attention and enjoyed Maisey's personality. I would highly suggest Jean and would definitely use her again.

Once again Jean was great! It is very comforting to know she is looking after Midnight when I’m gone because I know she is in good hands.

Jean was like leaving our Aussie with a family member. She provided daily updates with photos that assured us he was doing well. Jean provided us peace of mind which for us was a must. We will request her services for any future visits.

I always do my best to care for every pet I sit for the same way their owners do. This is why Meet & Greets are very important to me—they allow me to ask owners questions like what games their pet(s) like to play, what kinds of treats they like and how often I should give them, and what (if any) fears they have and how to handle them. I believe that the less difference there is between their normal life and home and life in my house, the better!

Information Jean P. would like to know about your pet

For me, personally, the most important thing I need to know about a dog ahead of time is how they behave towards cats. There's some wiggle room for rambunctious or 'unsure' dogs (I am lucky enough to be able to sequester my cat away upstairs for the duration of a visit), but for everyone's safety and peace of mind, I can't accept a cat-aggressive dog into my home. Other things I absoultely need to know before a visit: - If their shots are up-to-date, and the name, address, and number of their regular vet. - What (if any) medications they're on, and how those medications are administered. I can not give shots. - If they are dog friendly or not, so I can plan our walking schedule accordingly. - If they suffer from separation anxiety, so I can alter my schedule and be at home as much as possible during their stay. - Direct contact numbers for the owner and an emergency contact (just in case).

A typical day

I live in a pet-friendly community that has several doggie bag stations. I walk frequently and am familiar with the schedules of other neighbors, especially those who allow their pups to go off leash to potty outside (fortunately, there aren't many of these). This has come in handy when I've boarded dogs who are not so friendly towards other dogs. I have some toys of my own in my home, as well as treats, and will spoil your dogs as much as you'll let me. I am okay with dogs being on the furniture, or even sleeping in bed with me and my husband. My husband also a dog lover, and will give them plenty of affection of his own.

Pet sitting is my full-time job, so pet care easily fits into my usual routine. I'm a regular ol' homebody, so the only time I am away from home is when I'm doing my weekly grocery shopping, going to an appointment, or conducting drop-in visits for other pets. It is very rare that both my husband (my emergency backup helper) and I ever gone from the house for more than a couple of hours at a time, so your pet will never be alone for very long. If your pet suffers from severe separation anxiety, please let me know and I will make special arrangements to stay at home for as much as I can during their stay.
