Experienced Dog Lover Available!
Pet care experience
I grew up in a dog-centric household, however I have taken care of my own dogs for the past 19 years. For the last 8 years, I've had the opportunity to foster dogs through different organizations, as well. It has been an extremely rewarding and educational experience with regards to learning about a multitude of different dogs and how best to deal with different dog personalities and what their mannerisms indicate. The foster dogs that I cared for ranged from puppies to senior dogs and included numerous different breeds. I've had dogs that were incredibly easy, as well as ones that were particularly difficult and high maintenance. These experiences have made me open to taking care of all types of dogs; I'm happy to help administer medicine, eye drops, insulin injections, etc. I've experienced it all!
Reviews
Jayna is one in a million! She has cared for our senior pup multiple times, both at our home and at hers, and has been nothing short of amazing. Our dog is so excited to see her and we get great updates; she is also super comfortable with his medication routine which gives us a lot of comfort. Jayna rocks!
Jayna is a true pet lover who's looked after our cat and our dog in the best possible way.
Jayna is a responsible house sitter who follows detailed directions thoroughly, and is very responsive. My 100 lbs hound is on 3 medications and needs specific attention. Jayna took care of him, my fish and my home exactly as I would have hoped while I was away with my family for a number of days. We would like to work with her again.
Jayna was wonderful with our senior dog! He took to her right away and she sent lots of great updates. Would definitely recommend!

I'm available to walk any pup beginning from late morning into the evening, including multiple times a day. I currently live in a house with 3 acres and a huge back yard with forest surrounding it, so it is not fenced. However, I'm more than happy to walk your dog if there's a fear that they will run into the forest. If there is a situation where your pup gets along with mine then it would be fine for them to hang out with us during the day if that's preferred for some company. Otherwise, we are able to separate my dogs and keep them upstairs while I care for your pup downstairs. I'm also open to dog-sitting for anyone going on vacation! Our house is set up to accommodate dogs visiting and staying due to my previous fostering, which is how I came to have my two current dogs. Also, I'm a firm believer in positive reinforcement to teach dogs acceptable behavior and manners, so no punishments that may traumatize or hurt the pup!

Information Jayna S. would like to know about your pet
It would be extremely helpful to know the age of the dog, the medications the dog is currently taking and what ones I would be responsible for providing while pup parent is away. Any quirks of the dog, such as being food possessive or being unwilling to share or play with other dogs toys is incredibly helpful so that I can go into the situation and properly mediate it so that no dogs feel stress or anxiety over their interactions. Also, how they act on a leash and if they are flight risks. Finally, whether the dog is house-trained or how well it is.
A typical day
The activities done with any pups I take care of will be totally dependent upon the dog and what activities they enjoy, if any. I will be sure to cover all of this information with the dog owner prior to taking care of the pup. I have a number of dog toys at my house, but I'm happy to accept personal dog toys and keep them safe so the pup I'm watching can play with them while under my care. There are also 2 beautiful nature walks close to my home which dogs would love if they need to blow off energy and I'm happy to take them! My dogs aren't possessive with regards to food, attention, or toys; so it gives me the opportunity to focus on what makes our new guest happiest in our home. If your pup is better alone without the company of other dogs then we can easily keep them separate in our split-level home with a door separating the two areas. Normally, when it's just me and my 2 pups, I walk them in the morning, then feed them and give them their medicines; followed by periodically taking them outside to get some sun and potentially pee (if need be). Ruby normally likes to run around and play with her toys while Rusty likes to be lifted into his chair and hang out. Toward the evening, I'll make them dinner, take them on a short walk again, and then turn in for the night. The dogs are allowed anywhere people are in my house, including the couch and bed (no dinner table :) ) We also have copious amounts of comfy dog beds if that's preferable for your pup to lounge around and sunbathe.

Availability
My schedule is flexible because I'm currently based from my home. This basically means that I'm available to provide care in whatever capacity needed beginning from late morning until the evening and any day that's necessary. I have two dogs of my own and my day heavily incorporates them into it. I made a concerted effort to do the same thing whenever I took care of foster dogs. Whenever a dog is my responsibility I make a point of giving them the care and attention that they require.
