Someday, I want to open a rehabilitation center for rescued animals along with a physical therapy center for people. There’s a symbiotic relationship between people and animals; we have so much to give each other. This kind of connection can be healing and vital for people and for pets. Like many other animals, dogs are resilient, forgiving, and they love without restraint or judgment. I’m compassionate and caring, and even the most timid pets often warm up to me quickly. I’m currently a college senior, and I enjoy lots of outdoor activities like kayaking and going to the beach. With dogs, I focus on getting plenty of playtime. I love catch, tug-of-war, and long walks. Staying active is vital for providing good care, and I love taking fitness classes at the gym or taking dogs for a run. I’ve volunteered working with horses, helped train and care for my neighbors’ four huskies, and when I was younger my family would rescue strays as well as pets from the animal shelter. Growing up with animals led me to be endlessly compassionate toward them; I currently follow a vegan diet because it aligns most clearly with my values. I live in a fantastic, wooded neighborhood with trails, beautiful views, and a beach. Most of my neighbors have pets, so the area is incredibly welcoming.
