I will enrich your dogs life.

Pet care experience

I'm a Dog Trainer/Behaviorist that focuses on creating and maintaining a calm, happy state of mind. I have worked with and trained dogs for over 15 years. I believe the key to a well-behaved dog is first creating and teaching them to be calm and relaxed in order to slow the brain down to make better choices. Once you have a dog in that calm state of mind you unlock the dogs ability to learn and be trained. Most people focus on physical exercise while forgetting the importance of mental stimulation. Dogs are highly intelligent and need to be given a job that requires some problem solving. I like to use their ability to smell and problem solve to tire them into a quiet, calm, well-behaved companion.

Our pet's stay was wonderful - Jason was really attentive to his needs and he came back a very happy pup! It is so great to know your dog is safe and in great hands while they are not with you, we will definitely be book with Jason again and again.

Jason is great! He really cares about the dogs he cares for, and goes above and beyond to make sure they are happy and enriched. I would definitely recommend him to my friends.

Jason is a great choice for anyone in the Jacksonville area. Both of my Boston Terriers were taken care of with the highest level of love and Jason was a great communicator, even sending messages and pictures during my week out of town. I would recommend him to anyone (and frequently do!) .

Information Jason A. would like to know about your pet

I’ve had the pleasure to work with just about every breed. The one thing I’ve learned is that all dogs are individuals. Sure there are specific tendencies to certain breeds but beyond that they all have different personalities. You may have a big Rottie that’s a softy and needs to be treated a little ‘softer’ with more patience than a chihuahua that thinks he rules the world. I approach each dog as an individual therefore there is no dog that is too much for me. I have no breed restrictions.

A typical day

There’s two types of walks that benefit dogs and owners. Well actually three if you count the quick ‘out to potty’ walk. But the two that make the biggest impact on enriching your dogs life is the exploration walk and the structured leadership walk. The exploration walk is great for letting dogs go out in front with some freedom so they can take in new smells and sights. This usually works best on a retractable leash where they can get about 16 feet from you but still know to stay with you so they feel like their working for and with you. The structured walk is where they walk real close to you and become sort of an extension of you where they feel they are part of a unit that has a purpose. This is great if you want your dog to stop pulling. I like to leave it up to the owners to decide which best fits their situation. When a dog stays with me, unless I’m asleep or he/she is in a crate, I devote all my attention to them just as I would with any training situation. It’s become a habit for me to mindful of the dogs around me at all times. There’s plenty of time to lay around and relax but what I do know is eventually they get restless and want to use their mind and body for a little more strenuous activity. Depending on the dog, I like to cater to what works best for the owner and the dog whether it’s how we walk, train, or what kind of activities they feel would enrich their dog the most.
