Pet care experience

I know how difficult it can be to be away from your best friend when you’re away. For me, being away from my dogs when I’m on vacation is one of the hardest parts about being away! No one likes sticking their pup in a kennel, and it can be difficult to find a trusted place for them to stay. That’s what inspired me to become a pet sitter! I want to do my best to give dogs the happiness they deserve and give back to my community whenever I can. That’s why being a sitter truly is a dream come true for me! In addition to being a lifelong dog lover, I also have tons of experience taking care of ups in need. I’ve been a volunteer at the human society for almost my entire life and can’t think of anything more rewarding than getting to take care of pups in need. In my time there, I learned a lot about providing pups with high-quality care and getting them back up on their paws. I’ve also fostered dogs through a local foster program, and I loved helping pups transition to their forever family! Most of the dogs that I took in were disabled or had mange, so we did what we could to work with them and get them healthy. I just have a passion for making dogs happy! When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. The thing that dog and owners will love about me the most is the passion that I have for animals. I am here to make sure that the owners and their pups feel 110% comfortable. I always go above and beyond to make sure that everyone has a positive experience. To accomplish that, I like to start off by getting as much information as possible about your pup and your care expectations—even before the stay begins. That way, I can already start thinking about how to make your pup’s dreams come true! During a stay, I provide lots of regular updates with accompanying photos, so you can see just how much fun we’re having together! I’m happy to take notes on whatever you need to know your pup is doing well, from behaviors to meals to exercise time. Likewise, I’m very easy to get in contact with, so never hesitate to reach out for any reason, at any time.

Aubrea and Jared were great! I loved hearing from them everyday with updates on how my pup was doing. They made him feel right at home! I would love to send my pup to their house again.

Jared and Aubrea watched our lab while we were on vacation. He is pretty high energy and had a blast swimming and playing with their dogs! Will absolutely be using them in the future!

Information Jared J. & Aubrea B. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

If your pooch were to come stay with me for a few days I would make sure to ask his owner what their typical day in the life is. I like to get a general idea of what their daily regimen is like, but I also have some ideas on what to do locally. Getting out and about for walks (and maybe even on a hike!) is always on the menu, as I know that a healthy dog is a happy dog. We would also have plenty of time in the night to hang out and chill out. On the weekends we often take our dogs to the dog park, so we’d be happy to bring your pup along to meet some new friends! I work from home every other week and I am home on the weekends. I would prefer to board dogs on the weekends as well as when I am work from home in order to make sure I am home with all boarded dogs. My home is a single story home with 3 bedrooms. My dogs rule the house and are allowed to go any and everywhere they want. My backyard is a good size and we have a pool as well. One of my dogs love to swim so we do swim lessons with him in the summer and would be willing to offer those to boarding dogs if their owners opted for them! I live in a suburb so there are a lot of houses around me and lots of dogs to see and sniff on our walks. My favorite thing about my neighborhood is how friendly everyone is! Everyone loves dogs and love to walk their dogs as well.
