I originally grew up on a ranch in Northern California and can't remember a time in my life that I didn't have close pets. From Labradors to Guinea Hens, I've been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to have and take in a lot of different pets. My First best friend was named Shelby. She was a yellow lab that had the energy of a toddler but the heart of a mother. Then came along Brody, who actually was a stray that we found at our back door. After nobody claimed him, he made himself right at home with us and still lives with my Father to this day. Rhuka is the runt of the trio. After rescuing her from her previous home and 2 blood transfusions later she became the liveliest of the bunch. I've been lucky enough to spend most of my time in the presence of animals. I helped my stepmom aid in the birth of Shelby's 10 pup litter and help find them homes and raise them. I have house-sat many different occasions for up to two weeks at a time caring for both cats and dogs. Walking (or running for some) dogs and playing are both great for me and your pet. We both have fun and get a good work out doing so. I could continue to write a novel about why I love dogs but i'll save us both the time and cut it here.
