Dog fever!
Pet care experience
I am a first-year medical student at UNC Chapel Hill. Although I am busy this allows for a flexible schedule and studying can happen anywhere! I have had dogs my whole life but currently, I have a cat. I miss having a dog in the house so I promise caring for your dog is a true joy for me and I will surely treat them as my own (as I wish I had one of my own!). I have cared for dogs as large as German Shepards to as small as mini Pinschers. I am not afraid to get on the ground and play with them or cuddle them! I also understand how important it is that your pets stay on their normal schedules and therefore I will be very strict to follow your exact directions as to minimalize any stress on your pet from your absence!

Janine took care of our pups, house, plants, and fish for 10 days and we couldn't be happier! The dogs were in good spirits when we returned. She was responsive throughout the trip, providing lots of pictures when asked, and handled a few special requests for plant care easily. We will definitely be hiring her again.
I just returned from a short trip and as always am just delighted with Janine and the care she provided to my dog Bodie. This the third time I have used Janine and I couldn’t be happier. She sent me a text everyday with a picture of Bodie which I find to be reassuring and considerate. I really apreciate that part! I was also delayed at the airport on my return and texted Janine to ask if she could take Bodie for a unexpected short walk. Her response was immediate and she said she could head over to my place in 10 minutes. I was so relieved as I was hours late. I am planning on using Janine any time I travel. Not only does she take excellent care of my dog, my house looked exactly as I had left it. She is just great and I highly recommend her!!
Janine watched our dogs (in our home) for 10 days, and we have nothing but great things to say! She was responsive, responsible, and very flexible. One of our dogs had an ear infection at the start of Janine's visit, and Janine did an incredible job of applying medication in her ear (not an easy feat given how much Maya hated it!). She is super neat, and we would happily have her watch our dogs again and again!
I can not say enough about how much I appreciate Janine. This is the second time I used her to care for my Back and White pointer, Bodie. She is a complete professional, responsive, engaging and Bodie loves her. Bodie has some health issues and Janine had no issue with applying medication to his skin infection. My house was spotless when I returned, and she kept me updated with pictures. I will most definitely use her again and I can’t recommend her highly enough! She is great.

I love all breeds, big or small and regardless of the silly stereotypes that circulate these days. If you have any nicknames for your dog (as I usually do) these can be helpful for me to know! The same applies for how you usually greet them or how you say goodbye before leaving the house. Keeping these habits consistent tends to lower the stress on the animals in the time of your absence. It is also very helpful for me to know what behavior is strictly not allowed for your pets. For example, I know many dogs push the limits with new people and jump on the couch or bed, even though they would never do so in your presence! I understand leaving a pet at home can be just as stressful for the owner as the pet and therefore I want to provide the same level of care as you would; for everyone's comfort!
A typical day
I love to exercise so I will walk, run, and play with your dog in whatever manner he or she is used to! I have a pretty good arm for fetch as well if I do say so myself! Although, tug of war is a personal favorite of mine. I am also a very affectionate person so if your pet likes to cuddle or give slobbery kisses I will happily receive and return them!
