GENTLE, ONE ON ONE ATTENTION !
Pet care experience
Hi All! I had closed down for a bit as I was rather taken back by the unexpected passing of my beloved pup, Truly Mine. Yes, she had lived a wonderful long life of 15 yrs. but was not sick. I just lost a part of my heart.....BUT....have so much love to give. Just a reminder....I contact EVERY person who reaches out to me, BUT....the dogs in my care come first thus you may not hear from me instantly....but I WILL make contact ASAP. I have been providing 24/7 care for canines in a large private home setting for eighteen yrs now....My place, called "Wag Time @ JJ's Joint" has OFFICIALLY been in business since 2008 . I try to limit the number of pups I take so I can always have plenty of one on one time. I became a Rover sitter as I feel it has a good reputation, thus making it worthwhile being connected. I also offer daycare and lodging through Wag Time as well as Rover. There are lots of good people out there that love their pets but are tight on funds....I try to help in my own way with low prices and special discounts . Also know that, for the well-being of ALL dogs in my care, I Will Not take any dogs that I have not evaluated(3-5 month puppies excluded) prior to stay. I understand that last minute things come up with quick placement sometimes needed so I strongly encourage you to plan time to spend with your pup here at your leisure for a meet and greet. That way if a last minute situation arises, you will have peace of mind about where your pup will be and no stress trying to find a place. Dogs have access to house and 2 yards and 1 run. No cages. As a retired nurse, this is a vocation of pure joy that started out as just a hobby twenty yrs. ago. I have the love and experience for the safety of your fur baby and your peace of mind. I do request that you bring your fur baby to me clean and smelling that way,and I will try to return them to you in the same way. TIA. They are NEVER, EVER left unsupervised. I have a special fondness for senior dogs as they need a gentler kind of love and attention. I am also flexible i.e: lower overnight charges for puppies as some train earlier than others. With that said, some dogs are puppies long after 1 yr. old....both at heart and with their activity level They may still chew and have some accidents inside. They probably need lots of vigorous activity also. I may charge a bit more if they need extra handling, notice, just said, "may". When I have three or more puppies (9 months and below), I open my "Puppyville". Young ones can often be a source of annoyance to senior dogs. Some love the energy, others, not so much. So I make sure that the pups can play openly in a secure and comfortable area. The larger pups that can hold their own ground can also be with the bigger dogs as long as there is adequate supervision. Due to the size of my grounds, I can separate dogs by size only if needed. My "foster" pups become part of the family, watching TV at night, cuddled up on the couch, sleeping in my bedroom. When a pup comes to me on a regular basis, they have a hard time leaving....cause this is a "howling" active place! And that is why I was voted the "Best Watering Bowl in Town!"
Reviews
Janice is such an amazing dog sitter! She did an initial meet and greet so my dog would know that she was my "friend". Also, she is so kind and makes sure your dog is comfortable, eats well, and plays with them! I would 100% recommend her!!
JJ was fantastic! Her grandson Kerr was an outstanding caretaker. My pup came back happy and slept very well (probably because she was playing the whole time). JJ is attentive to detail. We had a meet and greet first. The front yard is fenced off (so you have to ring the doorbell by the garage/mailbox and enter thru the garage), so there are two yards with turf designed for dogs.
Janice and her brood of fur babies are wonderful companions for my girls. Lots of space to run around, entirely secure yards (front and back!) and beautiful shade for hot days. OH MY GOODNESS are my Pugs spoiled by her home-made sweet potato snack sticks!
Amazing! Janice and her crew were very accommodating and welcoming!

Aside from the usual things that are discussed between owner and sitter, I want to be made aware of any and all problems that a pup might have. Many owners are worried that if they tell you of a habit that is considered a problem, you might not take their dog. This is not my way of thinking....I want to..need to know the bad as well as the good. This is not a route to "goodbye, so long"....it is a route to proper planned care for your pet. I always "tell it like it is" and expect the same from an owner.
A typical day
When a new pup comes to me I follow the way the owner instructs as long as it fits in with the other pups here. I keep the amount here down so I can have some one on one with each dog each day. I am the leader of the pack thus I control the games and toys. Fighting over a toy means that toy disappears. We do lots of playing in the yards and in home when too hot or wet. If the dogs don't play with each other for exercise, then they join in my games of Water guns, Bubbles, Follow the leader, Find the treat, and good old Catch the ball. We each dog once or twice a day but if I have a full house the exercise is increased on grounds and (sometimes) walks may not happen. This because I NEVER leave ANY dog unattended and some groups do not walk well together. In hot weather, walks are very early or after sundown. We have several assigned walking routes so that the dogs have different areas to explore (on leash). Very high energy dogs may need more and longer activity then I offer, thus the absolute need for a proper evaluation. BUT...after saying all this, I still love to do nothing more than have a dog cuddle with me!
