Hi, I'm Janice and I offer overnight boarding, in-home daycare, and on-leash walks around the Beach neighbourhood. I have a super friendly Chocolate Lab, but I enjoy having a multiple dog household. I've been walking and boarding my friends dogs for over 15 years and have looked after all sizes of dogs and from very young pups to sweet old timers. I've owned two Labradors and both have been the source of so much joy (and so much chewing destruction!). I've taken a dog first-aid course and have read many dog behaviour books and have had good success rewarding the kind of behaviour that I want to see repeated. All the dogs in my house are important to me and I do everything possible to keep them happy. Just look through the photo album and you will see a happy dog house. Your dog will love it here! Boarding: Boarding your pup here will be as close as possible to their normal routine. I know it can be stressful leaving your pup in the care of someone else and it can be stressful for them too. When your dog stays here they will have both human and canine companionship and a normal routine in my clean and comfy home. I have a fully enclosed backyard so they can play safely outside. I have dog beds on each floor and the dogs sleep in the same room as I do. And I have a host of enrichment toys to help keep them occupied. Don’t worry about missing your pup as I will send you pics so you can see how much fun your dog is having. And you' can get back to enjoying your trip without worry. Daycare: If your dog is social and needs companionship, daycare is the best option. I offer a limited number of spaces in my house which has a fully enclosed backyard. This allows the dogs to run and play safely off leash, and when your dog eventually tires of playing, I have a comfortable rest area with dog beds and crates. I also have a range of enrichment toys that most dogs enjoy. Your dog will become Hugo’s (my chocolate Labrador) best friend. Daycare service includes on-leash walks around the neighbourhood. Your dog will be very tired after a day of daycare and it may only be needed a couple of times a week. Walking: I offer on-leash walks around the neighbourhood with a maximum of 2 dogs at a time. I will want to know all the quirks of your dog so I can anticipate issues and avoid any problems. If your dog needs off-leash play I'd recommend daycare service or half walk and half play in my backyard. Due to Covid, I wear gloves when I go into your place and I wipe down the leash when I return your dog back home. For all services: I will want to meet you and your dog and ensure compatibility, so I will request a meet and greet prior to first booking whether that is for boarding, daycare, or even just a walk.
