We live in a small lakeside neighborhood on a quiet dead end street just outside Bemidji--a great place for dog walks and trips to the local park! Our family has had beloved dogs in our home for several decades. In addition, I worked as a kennel and veterinary assistant for several years from college through grad school, later served for several years on the Board of Directors for pet education and outreach for our local animal shelter, and have trained and worked with three of our family dogs in pet therapy programs for local nursing homes and the rehab and behavioral health units of our local hospital. We have enjoyed outdoor activities like camping and hiking with our own dogs when they were young and adventurous, but also have a lot of experience caring for low-key senior dogs and their special needs. We have a comfortable home with a great fenced in back yard, and lots of comfy dog tuffets and toys indoors.. I work part-time and primarily from a home office, and so I am usually home much of the day except for occasional meetings or work projects that might take me away from home for a couple hours. One of our senior pugs passed away in December and another one more recently, so now our home is too quiet--we need to hear the pitter patter of dog paws around the house again! And your dog would be very welcome to come for a visit!
