Loving dog mom!

Pet care experience

Hello! I have two very friendly and playful vizslas at home that require plenty of exercise, patience, and attention so I understand the commitment and I am fully prepared to work with you and your pup. I enjoy volunteering at the Montgomery county animal shelter and I love every dog I’ve met there. I am a patient, calm, and prepared young person that will care for your dog like I would my own. I will also following any rules or requests you have for your pup specifically. I am able to walk/visit/take care of dogs anytime after 9am Mon-Sat and on Sundays I can do earlier if requested. If you have any questions about my availability, preparedness or anything else please feel free to reach out and contact me. I also recognize that covid-19 brings up a new concern about opening your home to strangers. During this time I leave my home almost exclusively for swim practice once a day where we as a team are required to follow strict sport specific distancing guidelines. I rarely partake in other activities and I always wearing a mask (and frequently wear gloves) if in public. If you have any concerns or questions about this please feel free to ask me.

Jane is an excellent caretaker and will take amazing care of your dogs! Owning multiple herself, she knows how dogs work and how to take care of them. She’s extremely responsible, and will take great care of your dog. 10/10, highly recommend.

I know Jane to be responsible and diligent from seeing her work ethic at school, her dedication to swim practice, and the caring and patient way she’s taken care of her new dog. She is trustworthy and reliable, and she would be a great dog-sitter, house-sitter, or baby-sitter.

Jane is a wonderful dog parent. She has two dogs, one a year old, and another a 4-month old puppy. She is very patient, as is necessary with young dogs, and she handles them well. One thing I’ve noticed when she interacts with her dogs is that she is thoroughly prepared for a given situation. When she takes them for a walk, she places the back of her hand on the sidewalk or road to see if it is too hot for the puppy to walk on. She brings treats and cold water to make sure they don’t become dehydrated, and treats to train them to get off of the edge of the road and into the grads if a car is coming (her dogs don’t like to walk in the grass). Again, she is very patient. Personally I would not like someone who is easily frustrated to pet sit for me, because sometimes leashes can get tangled and a squirrel can pop up, and we all know what happens next... In that situation, Jane would calmly redirect the dog’s attention and untangle the leashes and continue on her walk. I highly recommend Jane as a pet sitter. She is a delightful person who loves dogs and appreciates the joy they bring to our lives.

Information Jane R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know some of their favorite things (to do, to eat, etc.) and if there are any behavioral concerns, even if infrequent, I would just like to be made aware of them before hand. I have no true preferences when it comes to breeds but my favorites are vizslas and Rhodesian ridgebacks! I also enjoy small pups too!

A typical day

There is a very large park on a lake in my neighborhood that is frequently empty or almost empty. I love to take my dogs there to throw a ball, run around, and play together. While my dogs don’t love the water I have seen many other dogs and people that love to jump off the park dock into the lake water for a fun swim.
