Safety first, then comfort!

Pet care experience

Choosing my service gives you more than a place to board your precious pet. It provides the assurance of peace of mind while you are away. I have owned dogs for 35 years, fostered over 40 rescue dogs and transported rescue animals since 2017. Dogs are an important part of my life. Your beloved pet will be well-cared for at my home. I prefer smaller dogs up to 30 pounds although Rover’s only option is 16-40 pounds in the size/choice section. I must be able to lift and carry your dog in case of injury or illness. I prefer to board one dog at a time. That way, your pet receives personal care and attention.

Jan was wonderful! She was incredibly thoughtful, attentive, and knowledgeable when it comes to dogs (including rescue dogs). I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog, Juno, with her for the week. I’d highly recommend Jan!

Jan Hyne is by far, the absolute best person ever to pet sit your fur babies!! She is kind, understanding, funny, and goes above and beyond to make sure your kiddos are well taken care of. She is thorough with her daily updates and pictures, so you have peace of mind in knowing your dogs are doing fine in her care! This was our first-time using Jan Hyne and Rover and definitely not our last!! We have found a true friend in Jan!

Jan is amazing!! I cannot say enough about the excellent care and attention they had. I knew my pups were well cared for and I was able to enjoy my family time with no worries. She sent pictures to let me know they were fine. They came home happy and healthy. Jan makes it home away from home for her guests.

Safety, trust & environment

My large fenced yard provides exercise and my 2 female miniature schnauzers have welcomed many foster dogs. They are vocal, but friendly. If your dog likes to bark, we are fine with that. Toys, outdoor recreation and plenty of quiet time will create a comfortable atmosphere in your absence. When your dog arrives, I’ll take his tags off and set them aside. Your pet gets my tag attached to the collar. It has my name, address and phone number. My job, above all else, is safety. Should your pet escape, contacting you in another city, state or country is useless. My tag assures a speedy recovery to my home. When you return, your tags are back on and mine are removed.

Information Jan H. would like to know about your pet

I can accommodate special needs your dog may have. Pills or liquid medications are easily administered. After 35 fosters and 10 of my own dogs, I’ve experienced a full range of personalities and situations.

A typical day

We are up by 6:30 AM and out in the yard for potty. Then, breakfast and more outside time. With a securely fenced yard, dogs are out to play multiple times throughout the day. They have toys, a pool and lounge to enjoy the sun. Dinner is at 5pm and bedtime is 10-11 pm. We always have bedtime potty time. If your dog is used to being walked because he/she is a condo or apartment dweller, I can easily leash walk in my quiet neighborhood.
