Pet care experience
I had a lab growing up and my sister has 3 dogs, a chocolate lab (4) & two GSD’s (2 & 3) that I spend tons of time with! My sister is a dog trainer so I’ve learned & gotten tips from her! I’ve been around dogs pretty much all my life, from small to super big! I have a 2 year old aussie & he’s the best! Being around dogs is always what I want to be doing, besides teaching which is my other passion! I am a kindergarten teacher and I run a small business making pet accessories!

Jamie absolutely loves dogs! She’s taken amazing care of my chocolate lab and treats him like her own. She loves to play with him, take him for walks and always wants to watch him. She would be a perfect fit for anybody’s dog because of how loving and caring she is

I live in a townhouse, no backyard but enough space for bathroom breaks & not far from a fenced dog park or a field for extra running space. My Aussie has TONS of toys that he is always willing to share, so indoor fun is covered! I also have a deck that my dog and I like to hangout on, sometimes we pull out his splash pad for some water fun!

I’m fine with any breeds but they do have to be potty trained and must be friendly with other people & dogs, as I have my own dog. My Aussie is not dominant, and is not around tons of dogs on a daily basis. He spends time with the same few dogs (sisters dogs or our friends have doodles). He does better with female dogs but he does get along well with the male dogs we know, he has just had a few bad past experiences with other male dogs. I advocate for my dog whenever I can and as a sitter with this knowledge, I would advocate for any dog that is in my care!
A typical day
Maverick is very laid back - surprising for an Aussie! It’s been super hot which he’s not a fan of so we’ve been spending most of our time inside, but we still play fetch or frisbee indoors! I have a few puzzle feeder toys that are great for entertaining as well. There is a trail that runs behind my community, that is great for walking. An open field is nearby and there is a fenced dog park about 20 minutes away that we like to go to when it’s not too hot.

I am currently on summer break for a few more weeks before returning to school full time. When that happens, I will be available weekends only.
