I would like to know how much training your dog has already had, prior to sitting him or her. I would also like to know how much of that training you would like me to instill during my stay with them (ranging from your standard "sit" and "stay" to "lay down" or "shake"). Equally important, is knowing what makes your dog anxious or upset. Some pups hate thunderstorms, some don't like vacuum cleaners, and some simply don't like to be watched while doing their business. Any little tidbits you can share will only help me prepare for our time together. As for breeds, I love all kinds–each dog has a different personality and it's fun to get to know those personalities and unique traits. I consider myself an equal opportunity dog sitter. Not to mention, I have some pretty solid upper body strength and can hold my own during a walk with a very large dog.

I love to go on nature walks, trails, and lakeside strolls. However, if your dog is more comfortable on the sidewalks of a safe neighborhood then I am up for that too! If there's a nearby fenced-in dog park, I'm happy to bring them there so that they can run around and play fetch (if they like that sort of thing) but I can also be persuaded to go on an energizing run with them and allow both of us the opportunity for some much-needed exercise. I am also more than happy to give your dog(s) baths during my home-stays, especially if they get into something stinky, slimy, or sludgy.
