Hello =) Welcome to my page. My name is Jamie. I'm a mid 30’s graduate school student working towards an MSW. I'm a proud cat & dog mom. Currently I am serving: Ojai, Ventura, Oxnard & Camarillo. Newbury Park & Thousand Oaks. I have been caring for animals and homes since I graduated High School & have held a handful of steady clients over the years. As an animal lover and owner, I understand the important of having a trustworthy person in your home and with your fur babies. Personally, I don't drink or smoke exc. It's not my thing. So please know, if you choose me, I will show up and always do my absolute best. As far as dogs go- I have experience with puppy care, wound care, administering medications, food aggressive dogs, dogs that need to be separated throughout the day & those with conflicting personalities. I also have experience with dogs that high anxiety. I do not train animals however I will do my absolute best to continue with any commands or redirections you are currently practicing. Cats- Comfortable and confident engaging in play, cleaning up any spit up and administering liquid or small tablet medications. Moody, selective or aggressive cats, I do just fine with. I love those ones. A vast majority of my clients come by word of mouth & book directly through me. I provide services to members of Ventura Pd, Pilots, Nurses, therapist, and young families trying to get away. Going through me directly makes for flexibility in pricing, the passibility for personal phone call references if requested, and emergency contact I information if you ever can’t get a hold of me.

I have known Jamie for over 20 years and not only is she responsible, honest and trustworthy but she is a very compassionate and a loving pet caregiver. She stayed in my home and cared for my elderly blind, deaf dog and more recently my next dog many times. I also referred her to my friend Rob Archer to care for his cat and dog, she was fabulous and reliable, especially as it often involved short notice and quite a commute. I would highly recommend Jamie for all pet care, walking, feeding, living in or visiting. Knowing her ability to deal with 'difficult' cats is a specialty that not many can accomplish.
My husband and I have had Jamie take care of our dogs and home for a few years now and we love her! She is so good with our dogs and they get so excited to see her whenever she comes for a visit. She takes time to play with each of them and gives us updates and photos on how they're doing when we're gone. There is so much thoughtful detail in her little notes on each of the dogs and I love reading their little report cards. When we get back, our home is always cleaner than when we left it; Jamie is such a conscientious house sitter and we have such peace of mind knowing she is taking care of everything. She is truly a gem and we cannot recommend her enough!!
Jamie is amazing! She is very responsive, flexible and wonderful with our pups. She is attentive and made sure our pups got everything they needed and had all the love, fun and attention to keep them busy and happy while we were away.

How do I care for pets? It’s all about the relationship. I believe in meeting a dog where they are. May they be shy or spunky to fearful and anxious, I feel it important to provide a safe space for animals to build trust in me. I believe in honoring the owners wishes to the best of my abilities. Sometimes that looks like practicing commands, driving them to a safer area to walk or sticking to the yard with many play sessions. From my own experience I have seen how important routine can be for some dog. I’ve also cared for a mix of personalities and temperaments to know that as a sitter, you, the owner, know what’s best.

Information about your animal is crucial to our success. I'd appreciate a heads up about the following: Name, Age. Gender, Species, Color. Microchip number (optional) Do they have a history of biting? Personality type? People Friendly? Dog Friendly? Physical Limitations? Current Medications that have are having active side effects to? Are they experiencing sudden onset of any physical illness (diarrhea, dizziness)? Would you like me to report to you if they poop?
A typical day
On a standard walk with no additional information given I would take the dog around the surrounding area of the home for the duration of time. Local beaches, boardwalks and trails are always fun! I strive to do what you and your pet are most comfortable with. Some dogs don't want to walk, I've had that happen many times. In those cases I do my absolute best to get outside. If all else fails, I give affection & play in the home with visible toys for the duration of the time.
