Pet care experience
I am a dog behaviorist where I currently work with aggressive, or fearful dogs and their owners to rehabilitate dogs. Before that I worked at a school where I was a Service Dog Handler for a student. I also Volunteer with a large breed dog rescue called Gentle Giants in Wayne New Jersey for the last 7 years. I handled many dogs in many different setting like adoption days and in cars driving them to their new homes. I have experience handling dogs that were extremely stressed, including dogs rescued from a dog hoarder and a Saint Bernard that was flown to New Jersey from California. The types of special need dogs I have worked with include blind, deaf, behavior problems, and a few different disabilities in the form of trouble walking.

James was great with my dog. Her tail was wagging when he arrived to walk her. He was punctual, professional. I highly recommend him.
James was early for the walk. He asked questions about my dog prior to the walk. He was patient with our puppy and had the ability to explain our puppy’s behavior to us. It was a rough walk, but he completed and provided feedback.
This was the second long term (vacation) sitting that we hired James for. Words can not express how grateful we are that James was there for Monty. Approximately half way through the stay, Monty took a nap and quietly passed away. This was unexpected, but Monty was an old dog. James immediately contacted us in tears. Fortunately, we had made arrangements with our vet to handle any issues. James bundled Monty in a blanket, delivered him to the vet and made the necessary arrangements. Then, he continued to return to our house to bring in the mail and take care of things for the duration of our vacation. We had seen previously how comfortable Monty was with James. We could not ask for a better or more mature and caring individual than James.

I am first day trained, and never leave dogs unattended in yards alone. As a dog behavior I can spot potential problems before they happen. I always put the safety of dogs and people first.

Before hand I only need to know if your dog has any different behaviors or special needs that I need to be aware of. I have worked with so many dogs that it will not be an issue to accommodate them.
A typical day
I like to start with building basic trust with the dog going both ways so they comfortable. During the dog walk I gently set basic rules and make sure they have a fun time.

I currently make my own hours, and it allows me to have a very open schedule for taking care of pets. I always make time for pets.
