I have cared for dogs for over 10 years (mostly my own), but I did spend many years fostering during my time living in NY & NJ. My wife, then fiancé got me into it :-) Now that we have settled down here in the Pacific Northwest I wanted to start caring for dogs again so I decided to use Rover. Rover has helped us find good people to dog sit when we go out of town, so I am sure there are folks out there that I could help out and do the same. I work from home so I can provide my furry guests with a lot of attention during the day that they likely would not get from your typical pet boarding service. I also have a fenced in yard and my own crates. I have (3) friendly dogs (2 husky mixes & 1 lab mix) at home who were all rescues.

My biggest compliment is that I did not worry at all! Communication was excellent, with updates through text and pictures. We easily made slight time modifications to fit both of our schedules. Lucy, my 43 pounds of AmStaff muscle, was immediately drawn to James. I hope to meet Lindsey during a second boarding in a few days, which is proof of a satisfied client!
James was an absolutely incredible host and we can’t recommend him enough. He watched our two German shorthaired pointers, Milly and Leif, for a week. They are a bit high maintenance in that they are very energetic and need lots of exercise, so we often have a hard time finding them a good place to stay. They got tons of playtime and exercise with James and he sent us daily pictures of them with ear to ear dog grins. He also had crates on hand so they were safely locked up (our preference) when alone, and they got to sleep in big, comfy beds at night. We cannot recommend James as a host enough. Thank you for making our trip away worry-free!

A typical day
I have a good work/life balance which affords me time to take the dogs out to play, on walks or potty breaks regularly. In addition to playtime in the backyard we enjoy walking around the neighborhood. The part of town we live in has very little traffic as we are away from the main roads.
