I am a zoology major who has been taking care of animals professionally for almost 10 years and unprofessionally for my whole life. In high school, I worked at an animal hospital for 4 years as a kennel technician taking care of other people’s dogs and cats by walking them, changing litter, feeding them, giving medications, and making sure they are as stress free as possible given that they are staying with strangers in a strange environment. During my college career, I have been working with Operation Catnip, a spay-neuter clinic for the community cats of Alachua County, and have also been pet-sitting for friends. When I wanted to do more pet-sitting, I found Rover and loved the idea that this offers a safe way to find sitters for your pets while also allowing them to stay in their home where they are the most comfortable and most stress free.
