Pet care experience
I have been working with dogs for over 10 years. I have been dog sitting during the time with all ages, sizes, and breeds. I have fostered 8 dogs for a local rescue group helping to train and rehabilitate the dogs for adoption. That service was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I know how to work with dogs that might be nervous or scared at first and get them to adapt to their situation positively. I treat them as my own when they are with me so they feel like they are also on vacation. I have a 4 year old black lab, Sirius, that loves to play with any dog. He gets along with about anyone and any dog. I take Sirius pretty often to Fort Ben state park to play and he goes to doggy daycare once a week. He is a certified therapy dog that comes to work with me a 4 days a week in a middle school. Since I work in a school I am home fairly early everyday. I take Sirius for a walk or a hike daily unless he is at doggy daycare. I am open to all types of dogs and my house has plenty of room to play or let the dogs have distance if they need it. I have 3 bedrooms upstairs to allow for more space. Im flexible on following what you allow for your pup. I will treat your dog as my own when they are with me.

James watched our dogs for two nights. As this was our second time leaving our dogs with James, they were excited to see James again. Our baby girl was bouncing like a puppy when we got to James' house. We are grateful of James' willingness to drop off our dogs at our house on the last day. It saved us a considerable amount of time and stress, allowing us to return from our travels to have our dogs awaiting for our arrival. James is an excellent pet sitter.
James is fantastic! We were on an extended vacation. In the past, we'd take our dogs to a doggie daycare/boarding facility, but given the age of our dogs (one being 12 years old), we felt like a home setting may be more comfortable for them at this time and decided to try Rover. We could have not been happier with our decision. James kept us informed on how they were doing the whole time. One of our dogs got sick right before we left, so we were worried about her health. James was really accommodating with her meds and special foods. James took them on walks everyday. On the last day, he dropped off our dogs at our house, which made it so much easier for us after coming back from a long vacation. Our dogs looked so relaxed and comfortable during their stay with James. We will definitely ask him to watch our dogs. Thank you, James! ?
I was fully confident that James would take excellent care of my dog, Ollie, and he did!!!. He also participated in some fun activities with Ollie and sent regular updates. I highly recommend James as an AWESOME rover!!! I also appreciated his flexibility in a pinch!
James took our dog Bowie for two nights on short notice. We appreciated the updates and how James took great care in giving Bowie time to acclimate to his home before introducing him to his own dog. We felt comfortable leaving Bowie in his care and would recommend him to other pet owners. Thanks again for making our spontaneous trip possible!

I care for the pets as though they are my own. I like to see their personalities, quirks and habits come out. I do respect your rules as best I can to keep it consistent for the. That being said I do like to spoil them with treat and fun toys while they are with me. I don't have a fenced in yard but have extra leashes so they can explore my backyard safely. I have plenty of room to spread the dogs out when I'm not home. I have extra crates and dog gates to make sure everyone stays safe. I also have security cameras that I use to check in on them throughout the day.

I like to know habits and preferences of the dog. I want them to feel comfortable in my home and make sure that I take care of everything I can. I ask about eating, bathroom habits, walking, medication, what is allowed at home, dealing with other dogs, and how the dog deals with other people. I like to be prepared not only for the daily things but anything I should be on the lookout for.
A typical day
Typically I take the dogs out for a walk in either the morning or evening, depending on the dog and their needs. I want them to get some extra attention and time so they are happy to be with me. I also try to stick to your rules and expectations so as not to confuse them but also give them extra attention or treats. I love to walk dogs around downtown neighborhoods as well as go hiking at Eagle Creek Park. I also know a few fenced in places that we can go if that dog really loves to play fetch.

Availability
I am open and flexible. During the school year I am gone during school hours. 8-4. During breaks I am home mostly and try to take Sirius with me anywhere I can. I love to walk with him and especially hike. We have some space nearby to run and then go to the dog park or Eagle Creek for hiking.
