Pet care experience
Hi! I'm James, a 37-year old university researcher. I'm currently based in Edinburgh and London (depending on work patterns) and I'm looking for some regular dog company for my morning walks and perhaps some time spent looking after pets while their owners are away. I have tons of experience with walking dogs and sitting pets, including several years and many positive reviews on both Rover and Trusted Housesitters. I like to cycle and walk a lot, enjoying nature and reading when I find the time. I miss having animals around as I have when living with family at various points in my life. I like to see new places, both rural and urban and would be very open to short/long terms housesits, so your loved ones can stay home peacefully while you're away.

James was great with our dog Biscuit. He was kind and gentle with her, always making sure he greeted her, and took his time to understand our situation and her needs. He was really proactive with keeping me updated as he sat with Biscuit for the day, and clearly likes being with him. I would happily and easily recommend James to anyone needing services from. a kind, conscientious person who clearly lives dogs.
James is wonderful and our pets love him! He is dependable and we don't have any worries when he stays at our house with them. He's a great person!!

I have plenty of experience of looking after many different types of pets in their home all over the UK and Europe. I am very clean, tidy and respectful of spaces and will of course follow instructions to the letter! I am good with plants and gardening so I could take care of that too while you're away.

I am always pretty relaxed about meeting new pets. I have looked after dogs and cats of all ages, with varying special and medical needs (medication, massage, sickness) and anxiety issues. The owner is of course best placed to think about any specific needs and I'll be very open to dealing with anything that's thrown at me! You'll see from my profile that I have lots of experience deadling with dogs with disabilities.
A typical day
I love to walk around the city's green spaces as well as going a bit further afield for a long hike (pet fitness permitting). I love playing ball with dogs in the park too, good exercise for me as well as them!

Availability
I am doing a lot of writing and marking these days, so I have a flexible schedule and can work from home whenever I want to. A regular dog-walk would help me get some fresh air and some restorative animal company, while a overnight/multi-day sits can often give me a nice change of scene. I can also do drop-ins to feed cats and dogs, or to let pets out for toilet breaks, whatever you need really.
