My life revolves around dogs and cats! This is my full time job so I am almost always home. I prefer bookings to be made at least 3 weeks in advance if possible, but can be flexible!

I have a big yard with plenty of room for potty breaks and sniffs. The yard is fenced with a 4-ft. wood panel fence. Dogs are crated if left alone and at night in my home. All pets are allowed on any furniture. Guest pets are fed separately from my own.

A typical day
Your dog will be physically and mentally stimulated while in my care! Your dog will enjoy plenty of wrestling with Otto and Raya, sniffs around the neighborhood, walks at the local parks, and a variety of toys. Daily enrichment, training-based care, and customized care is guaranteed!

Pet care experience
I've known dog and cat care was my passion from a very young age. From volunteering at my local vet clinic in middle school to managing Ames Pet Resort, and now I'm also a certified dog trainer. I have over 12 years of experience in companion animal care. These experiences give me the opportunity to work and bond with a huge variety of cats and dogs with varying temperaments and personalities. I love all dogs and cats of all sizes and ages. It is very important to me to form a bond with every animal that I interact with. I have grown up with multiple dogs and cats inside my home and now currently care for a variety of pets in a daily basis. I graduated in animal ecology from Iowa State in 2019. In January 2021, I attended Dog Training School at Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers and am now a certified dog trainer for companion dog obedience and behavior modification. I work at Ames Pet Resort from 2017-2024 and spent the last 5 of those years managing the resort.

Reviews
Jalyn boarded our puppy while we were on vacation. Jalyn provided daily updates, including pictures, so we were fully aware of our puppy’s activities throughout her stay. Needless to say, our puppy had a wonderful time! I highly recommend Jalyn!
This was the first time I left my newly rescued Merlin . Merlin does have a bit of anxiety when left. Merlin's experience with Jalyn couldn't have been better. I came back from vacation to a very happy dog. I can't praise her enough. Merlin is more confident and less anxious. I will definitely have Jalyn watch Merlin again!
Jalyn took such great care of our dogs and we couldn’t be happier with the care she gave to our pups! She kept us updated with pictures and little messages - it was easy for us to enjoy our vacation knowing they were getting love and taken care of so well. She kept them busy and happy which is what our dogs needed. 10/10 for her service and we will absolutely book with her again!
Jalyn took great care of our pup during a doggy daycare visit today. She provided us with several updates, and even sent him home with a report card and miscellaneous accoutrements relating to what he did today. We will definitely be booking with her again!
