I have known Jake for many years and I have asked him to caretake my pets many times. He is gentle, caring and warm hearted with animals - it is really apparent that he loves and enjoys being with and caring for all animals. I have watched Jacob with my dog and other's dogs and he truly enjoys the company of mans best friend. I watched him play and talk with my pug, Otis, like they were best buddies. And I watched how he would let my dog communicate with him in his own way. He was even careful about any treats he gave Otis. He cared for my dog like he was his own which made me feel safe letting him watch my little guy. Otis was always excited to see Jacob, as though Jacob was his human too! Otis was an old boy when he passed, and when he did Jacob gave me the lyrics to a song he had written about Otis! It was amazing and so touching. It's something I'll always cherish. Jacob genuinely cares about the wellness and happiness of all animals and he has the energy and patience it takes to make it a fun and safe experience for both dog and human. He is gentle and kind and yet has the necessary assertiveness and awareness to keep a situation under control if need be. Jacob seeks to find a connection with every dog he encounters; they're not just an animal to him. He knows that every dog has their own unique personality and can come with their own set of challenges that may require special attention and handling if necessary. He is also great with people. He understands that it's important to make every dog's human feel happy and comfortable and that building trust with the owner is just as important as building trust with their dog. He also understands that for an owner, their dog is a precious member of their family. And that they deserve to be treated as such. Dog lovers are a breed of their own. They carry a certain compassion and extra care that extends beyond dogs. And I count Jacob among these compassionate dog lovers. Every dog, and every dog's human would be lucky and delighted to have Jacob watch their dog.
