High energy girl who loves animals!

Pet care experience

I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, reptiles and all at the same time! I believe animals have positive energy to be around and I have the high and positive energy to match them!

Had a wonderful experience with Jahnayah who helped accommodate a short-notice booking and made the whole process easy and stress-free with a friendly and positive attitude. Highly recommend if you need someone to look after your critters!

I was hesitant to write this review but I’m going to because two days after this visit one of my cats came down with a severe case of eye conjunctivitis and an upper respiratory infection and I’m very upset/ I don’t want future animals to go without care. I had booked Janayah ( for a 3 day (2 night stay) I have 3 cats a cattle dog and bunny. One of my cats was just finished recovering from surgery due to animal abuse, starvation and dehydration (he was only 3 months old at the time of this sitting). I gave explicit instructions to clean the litter twice a day as 3 cats use it, always leave dry food out for the cats on a bowl on the cat tree and always make sure the fountain has water. I verbally gave her these instructions during a walk through and write them out. Additionally I said my cattle dog needs to be walked twice a day because he is extremely energetic and does not do well if he is not walked. Lastly I paid her separately for my bunny and asked her to clean her litter box when dirty. When I returned home, the kitchen smelled of dirty litter and there was litter sprinkled across the kitchen floor. I checked the litter box and I have never seen it so dirty, I’m honestly not sure if it was ever cleaned. There was at least 2 days of waste in there. As I have 3 cats one just recovering from surgery this is unacceptable and extremely unhygienic. The cat dry food was empty. As well as the cat water fountain. Third, we noticed our cattle dog was extremely energetic, he was pacing misbehaving and wouldn’t sit still. This was not reflective of him being walked twice a day and so we asked the landlord to check the hallway security camera and they found no clips of anyone leaving the triplex with a dog. Secondly we always place my dogs harness in a bag with the collar balanced on top by the door to ensure the rover walkers we hire actually walk the dog (we instruct to not use a collar on walks as it doesn’t fit, only the harness) . The collar was still balancing on top of the harness, untouched. There are no other harnesses /collars in the house so this is the only one that could be used for walks. My dog was not walked, I was sent no pictures of walks and when we found this out I cried, knowing that my dog was neglected. I personally view a dog not being walked as animal abuse, especially a dog breed with so much energy. The bunny’s cage was FILTHY, litter never changed, poop everywhere. We had asked her to take the bunny in the backyard for 30 minutes a day. We have an outdoor security camera which we checked after seeing the state of the cage and the bunny was never taken outside. A couple days after this sitting my cat who had never had health issues came down with a serious form of conjunctivitis in her eye as well as an upper respiratory infection we are still treating. Obviously there is no way to prove where this illness came from however my vet said if the litter was as dirty as I described the bacteria from the filth can most definitely be the cause of an upper respiratory infection and eye infection. What really upset me about this more than anything was we had told her our young kitten was a recent rescue who almost died, and I reiterated this over text and in person that she needs to make sure he eats as he was so malnourished and 1 day away from dying of dehydration when we rescued him. I had a gut feeling something was wrong when I had to message her multiple times for photo updates and updates on my animal, she kept assuring me (when she did answer) that the animals were fine and she would treat them as her own. This experience made me feel sick, I’ve never had a bad experience with rover and the fact I left my furbabies with this person makes me feel terrible. If you do book with her make sure you set expectations for photo updates on dog walks and when they have meals etc. I booked because of all the great reviews and it looks like the standard of care provided in the previous reviews has gone downhill
