I come from a pet loving family. Growing up, we always had at least 3 dogs and an assortment of other critters, so being surrounded by animals is an essential part of my life. I started working at the professional level within the horse industry when I was 14. When I was 16, I took on the role as a professional pet caretaker for a pet store where I was responsible for 30+ species and at least 30 dogs per day. I was typically put on a strict time constraint and expected to care for ~100 animals within 2 hours including food, water, and full enclosure cleaning. Because of my work history and my own pets growing up, I work well under pressure and can manage a large number of animals at a time. When I first started college at KSU, I began as a pre-vet major and took multiple courses on livestock management. Through my official jobs, classes, and my personal pet care business, I was able to gain experience with over 70 animal species and a wide range of dog breeds. I'm comfortable providing for dogs with a variety of needs, whether it be a puppy, a senior, a reactive dog, an intact dog, or a primitive breed. I have extensive experience rehabilitating feral cats and working with a variety of cats in rescues as well. I have worked with hundreds of birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, equines, and more. No critter is too creepy, crawly, or feathery to deter me! I love them all.
