Animals have been apart of my life since I was a little girl. My Nana had a little farm with horses, chickens, goats, pigs, cows, dogs, cats, ducks-so it was an easy connection for me. I started with showing horses when I was just six years old, then moved into 4-H once I was old enough and started showing chickens and goats for a couple years. Showing animals was fun, but the most enjoyable part for me was the responsibility of caring for the animals and the reward of their love. Although I loved animals of all sorts, I learned quickly that a dog's love was like nothing else in this world! My family always had a dog growing up from Boxers to Min Pins, and I was obsessed with every single one of them and them with me. Our Min Pin even had puppies once in the middle of the night, and I woke up to her carrying them into my room and putting them on my chest in between her labor! Fast forward a few years, I had just graduated and moved out of my parent's house, while most of my friends were interested in their new found freedom and making poor decisions... I went and adopted a puppy. This puppy became a big part of my family and was the start of my dream to be able to one day open a dog rescue to help dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds . Unfortunately he lost his life to cancer a few years ago, but he remains in my heart furever! A year after his passing, my boyfriend and I adopted our first fur baby together. I believe my boy in puppy heaven led me to her to keep my dream alive and heal my heart. Since her adoption, we have conquered potty training in an apartment, separation anxiety, kennel training, skin allergies, food sensitivities, moving across the country AND a litter of pups with her-and I wouldn't trade it for the WORLD! These experiences feel like they were stepping stones towards one day achieving my dream and have also introduced me to this wonderful opportunity!
