Pet care experience

Hey, Rover family! I am a 22-year old, full-time student in Manhattan's Upper Westside neighborhood, just one block away from Riverside Park's Dog Run South. I live alone in a one-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment and moved here, to NYC, in July 2019, from Houston, Texas. It was in Houston where I started Rover. It was a no brainer for me to continue to nanny pups in Manhattan--who wouldn't want that?! Haha. Anyways, here I am trying to establish a relationship with a few families. You see, back in Houston where I took care of three families' pups on a regular basis--I was their dog nanny, not just a dog walker/sitter. So, I am only looking to have longterm, reoccurring clients! As for my background: I grew up as a pet-owner and an avid animal lover-- I was always saving strays or some little animal. I even saved a baby raccoon at my job once. Lol I cannot make this up. My love for animals does not end with dogs, but it sure did begin with dogs. I give the best belly rubs, ear scratches, walks and overnights. Officially, I started dog-boarding and walking about four years ago with Wag, but, obviously, I switched over to Rover because I believe it's way better and offersa more specialized, personal experience. I did this about a two and a half years ago because, again, I wanted to create a clientele where I knew each dog personally and their families personally, rather than getting random and different dogs every day. The dynamic of having repeat clients feels better for me, and your pup, that way a bond can be established. 😊 Since moving to Manhattan from Texas, I have broadened my clientele past dog families! As of May 2021, I have 15 dog families, 3 cat families, and 1 bird family... My dog babies: Rogan (Pitbull), Momo (White German Shepard), Winnie (Brown German Shepard), Ori (Border Collie/ Aussie Mix), Jackson (Rottweiler/ Troller/ Bordie Collie Mix), Kolby (Beagle/ Pug Mix), Sophie (Mini Golden Doodle), Freddy (Pomeranian), Toby (Cavapoo), Cali (Mutt), Sam (Mutt), Leti (Mini Golden Doodle), Willow (Mini Golden Doodle), Bagel (Mini Golden Doodle), Cheerio (Mini Golden Doodle), Buddy (Mutt), and Pepper (Greyhound/ Hound/ Doberman Mix). Of my 15 dog families, 2 families have 2 dogs each. So I have 17 pups total! Of my 3 cat families, 1 family has 2 cats. All families are in the Upper West Side 60s- 80s and all families are reoccurring, long-term clients who are often frequent travelers. I am not exclusive to the Upper West Side, so please don't be shy to reach out if you are in the UES, Chelsea, LIC, etc etc! Any neighborhood in NYC is great! Having said that, all my pups are the best- well trained, sweet, and mannered. I can do drop-in visits and do walks for my clients who are proven long-term regulars, however, I prefer boardings, sittings and daycare. This means my clients use my services when they are going to be traveling whether it be for business or pleasure or because they are workaholics! That's why I call myself a dognanny rather than a dogwalker/sitter because each of my bookings are as if the dog is mine and treat I them as such! We wake up in the mornings together, take naps together, go run errands together, pick up takeout together, etc! I am not just picking up and dropping off your dog after a 20 minute walk with zero one-on-one attention! So I feel like I am my pups' nanny, their second family. I am so excited to meet your baby! Feel free to check me out on Instagram @uwsdognanny Or send me a text me—my number is shown on my business card shown in my photos. I have my own business cards and will be happy to set up a meet and greet and give you my business card when we meet. Full disclosure: I am a full-time student and work as someone's assistant 20-30 hours a week as well as participating in Debate Team at my university and of course my doggy business! Haha. So, I am super busy. Good thing though- all of my school and work and club meetings are done from the comfort of my own home, on my laptop, in pj's, and with my pups! My work schedule is flexible, so I move my hours around to ensure my pups get 4-5 outings a day which includes anything from a walk to hooman errands to subway hoppin' to dog park visits to scheduled play dates with my other clients to adventures around the city like brunch or a museum! Also: My Spring semester ends 5/14 @ 5pm and no I am not taking any summer classes or vacations! I do have a helper nanny, Nanny Michaela. She helps me when I am at capacity or cannot take one of my clients for any particular reason. She lives right next to the Empire State building and my pups love her! She is 23 and works in Fashion and grew up with dogs as well. Important things to note: - 3 pups at one given time is max capacity, I like to keep things personalized, homey, and comfy for my pups and also be able to give them each detailed care and if there's more than 3 pups the quality of one-on-one care goes down exponentially, so QUALITY OVER QUANTITY ALWAYS - I conduct my services with an element of training that is consistent for all my pups, so the same discipline structure is practiced with all my pups so that their is harmony between pupper clients when their bookings overlap and so that there is continuity for all my clients - Commands/vocabulary I implement with my pups: Sit, stay, come, gentle, happy, no bark, no bite, no pull, it's okay/you're okay, good girl/boy, be good girl/boy, bad girl/boy, open, drop it, stop, potty, no, oka'ay Other aspects of the structure I strive for with all my pups: - No humping any humans or other dogs ever! Unless the dog is their sibling via their human family - Socialization is #1 importance of training, and by thus I mean, I encourage my dog parents to take their pups with them everywhere they can, ESPECIALLY when they are younger, the sooner you start Socializing your pup to new experiences, place, people, situations, and distractions, the more well rounded your pup will grow to become! So I take my pups everywhere with me! Your pup will never be alone unless I have disclosed that with you prior and you have okay'ed that. - I bring a portable water bowl with me for my pups so they are always hydrated - Barking in the apartment or indoors at all should never be encouraged, it's okay if your pup does that, but that is something we will be working towards solving - Pups go outside 4-5 times a day minimum - Meet-N-Greets required if pups have not met each other before to ensure the pack's compatibility and therefore safety and happiness - Pup should not pull aggressively or at all really while walking on their leash - Recall training is important, is your dog a pro at recall training? - Utilization of different tones of voice, body language, facial expressions, and demeanor when talking to pups—this is a game changer if you do not utilize these already - Small dogs should not be exclusive to the small dog park, small dogs who are exclusive to the small dog park I have found typically tend to be the small dogs that have napoleon complexes and extremely aggressive, so I discourage the perpetuation of that behavior! My small dogs must work to learn to assimilate to the the regular dog park with all dogs; this important to the success of their socialization - I do not permit shock collars or any animal abuse when training my pups or by their pawrents; the structure and culture I have with my pups is a combination of positive reinforcement with implementing of the alpha-beta-omega relationship embedded within pack animals' instinctual language - Trained in Dog CPR + First Aid through the American Red Cross Anyhow, hoping you are all staying happy, healthy and sane, if you're in the city, during these uncertain times. And if you choose to getaway for the day, weekend, etc. to go to Jersey or the Fingerlakes, or wherever it may be, know that Jada, the Upper West Side Dog Nanny is your girl! Hope to see you soon.

Jada is absolutely AMAZING! She took such good care of our pupper during our first trip away from her. She took our pup to the dog park multiple times to help with socialization and was so patient with her and her anxiety. And our pup LOVES her! We are so grateful for Jada and her services. If I could give her 10 stars I would!

Jada was great! She sent me lots of pictures and updates. It was clear that my (65 lbs, high energy, border/aussie mix) dog had a good time with her. I've left my dog with Jada a couple times, and would definitely recommend her.
