I have always been around animals since I was a young child, and I view all animals as family members who deserve the same amount of respect and love as anyone else! On walks, I allow dogs to sniff around, explore with them a little and give them some freedom while still being on a leash. Unlike some dog walkers, I don't drag them on the walk as fast as I can to get it over with. On home visits, I let them use the bathroom, eat if necessary, and play with them enough until they are worn out and decide to rest. Afterwards, give them stomach rubs until I find their favorite spot that causes their leg to kick back and forth! I believe it is important for an animal to know they are actually cared for.
