Pet care experience
Growing up, my parents took my to a farm camp every summer. Being surrounded by animals of all kinds (cats, dogs, horses, cows, goats, etc), ignited my love for animals at a very young age. Being that I am a nurse, I do not have the time to care for a furry friend of my own. However, I love to dog sit and walk dogs whenever my schedule permits. I have loved fostering in the past. Fostering has allowed me to get to know many breeds and behaviors of dogs which has made me a proficient dog walker and pet sitter. As. a nurse, safety is always my priority. I will always ensure your furry friends are safe and well taken care of.

Jacqueline is a fantastic animal lover! I have personally watched Jacqueline foster dogs that have challenges with anxiety, reactivity, and adjusting to home life. Despite these challenges, she effectively comforts and works with them. I also have watched her interact with our dogs, who have very different personalities. She gently cares for my senior dog and energetically plays with our three-year-old dog. I have trusted her with my dogs multiple times and have always been impressed with her thoughtful care.

When caring for pets, I ensure to build trust in order to make sure the animals is as comfortable as possible. With this being said, I make sure to take my time during visits and pay attention to how your pet is feeling. I realize all animals are different! Please let me know if your dog or cat has any special needs, their energy level, and if there are any behavioral issues I should be aware of. I of not need to know any of these ahead of time, however, I like to know as much information about your pet as possible so I am able to accommodate them to the best of my ability.

A typical day
For higher energy pups I love to play fetch or take them on runs. In addition, I find mental stimulation to be great for high energy dogs. For example, I love using snuffle mats when feeding in order to make the process more rewarding for your pup. I like to do whats most comfortable with your pet. Send me details on what your usual walk route is and I will use that until I feel more comfortable with your pet.

Availability
I am currently working 3-4 12hr shifts a week. I am on a rotating schedule so I work day shift for 6 weeks and night shift for 6 weeks. I would love to help out whenever I am available on my days off from work!
