I grew up on a gentle and mindful pets-only ranch taking care of dogs, sheep, chickens, donkeys, birds, cats, bunnies, and ducks. Each year I would get to care for and raise lambs, baby chicks and so on. At one point I had five chickens that dutifully followed me everywhere I went! If we ever had a creature on our farm that did not seem to take well to human affection my mother would teach me how to build trust with even the most skittish of animals. I took those lessons to heart, and, to this day, my family and friends know me as someone who can safely and patiently charm most creatures into a relationship with humans. Growing up we had two pugs and a border collie all of which provided great foundational lessons to teach a child about the true connection you can build with dogs. I later ended up getting a pit bull mix named Paisley and a POA mare named Comfort. I loved being able to give my dog her best life taking her to the barn with me! When I was in college, I worked part time on a horse farm and walked faculty pets on my campus. When I graduated college I was able to afford my own horse, and I quickly became a loving member of my boarding barn’s farm, including horse training and exercising for others, dog care for the barn owner, and farm sitting. I have been to three different boarding barns and each barn owner has always trusted me with the keys to the gate, their personal pets’ care, and horse feeding, turnout and so on. I also used to volunteer with hippotherapy helping children and veterans find therapy through riding and caring for horses. Throughout my life I’ve always been entrusted with friend and family pets and have never had an unsafe incident with someone’s dog, cat, or horse. For that matter I’ve also always had a fantastic record with people’s children as well and worked on dorm at a boarding school for years, teaching yoga to teenage girls, and managing weekend activities which took us on adventures far and wide! I loved working at a school and adopting all the faculty pets into my life. Now that I no longer have any pets, I would so love to spend time with yours and get some much needed animal time. I can’t wait to meet you and fall in love with you wonderful dog/s!
