I solemnly swear and testify that Jacob is filled with some sort of kindred wolf spirit! Sounds cheesy, I know-- but, let me explain. Jacob is intelligent, loyal, and intuitive. By trade he is a personal trainer and a dog handler, and with canines and humans alike-- he has the ability to make you feel safe and comfortable just by simply being around. He has an inquisitive and understanding nature and more importantly, he has the innate ability to listen with all his senses because of his keen observation skills (and not the creepy kind---the understanding kind). Friends and family are always seeking him first to dog sit or simply go out of their way to ask questions and speak all forms of 'what is dog?'. He doesn't self-proclaim that he is an expert or all-knowing of dogs (although he seems to know his breeds and behaviors like an encyclopedia!) People and dogs just seem to trust him. It's that easy. Oh by the way, I've witnessed numerous occasions at social gatherings and public places random dogs just come to sniff him out, follow him, dump their owners, seek petting, and he's not even calling to them! Moments later the same dog is growling at someone else. Maybe because he's most likely filled that kindred wolf spirit and a pack knows its leader.
