I have completed several marathons, including two prize finishes and run most days of the week. I honed leash running with my own dog, Buddy. He's a jack russell terrier mix, and we love to hit up the various trails and streets around Roslindale and West Roxbury. Dog running can be a great way to help your dog maintain a healthy and happy energy level and weight, reduce anxiety, and improve their heart and lungs. It can be particularly beneficial for high-energy and working dog breeds, though several small and medium size dog breeds can also be great runners. Dog safety is priority #1 for me. I would never push a dog to run beyond its abilities and comfort. And for safety reasons, I only run with one dog at a time and your dog will always be on-leash. On a 30 minute run, we'll cover 2 to 3.5 miles, depending on your dogs pace and the weather. I recommend the service as a compliment to the dogs regular walks. Some clients opt for two or three runs per week, which is often great. Other clients with really high-energy dogs might prefer to have their dog run four or five days a week to maintain a more consistent exercise regimen. DOG SITTING In addition to the dog running service, I am available to host up to 1 dog at our house during the week or weekends. As my wife and I also have a dog, we require that your dog is house trained and also gets along well with other dogs. We have a large, mostly-fenced in back yard, which is great for playing. And I will take your dog on great walks and hikes over the course of their stay.
