Pet care experience
As someone who's worked at a doggy daycare establishment and a pet store, as well as ran his own pet-sitting business back in high school, I have quite a bit of experience dealing with a variety of four-legged friends. I know that each animal, like each human, is a unique individual who requires attention to be paid to their specific needs. By working as a dog handler with 20 to 30 dogs under your supervision at one time, you become keen on picking up specific animal body language, and I use that to read the situation and adjust my practices to make sure your pet is always feeling comfortable and secure. I have the patience and flexibility to attend to your dog's specific needs – Got a lotta energy? Cool, let's go to the dog park! Don't interact well with other dogs? No worries, let's take a walk down on the Greenway. Too small for long distances, or not really wild about exercise? That's fine, let's just hang out and play with your favorite toys! I'm here to make sure your dogs (or cats) are feeling just as loved and cared for as if you were there yourself, and I pride myself on having a strong work ethic and dedication to the job.

Information Jacob M. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know how skiddish and standoffish a dog is before I meet them, and if such wariness will be a problem when I come to walk them. Knowing how they interact with other dogs will also be useful, in case I need to keep them on a shorter leash whenever we pass people or other dogs while out on our walks. I've always had bigger dogs while growing up (boxers, pitbulls, Great Danes) and my current dog is a boxer-husky mix, so I tend to prefer the bigger breeds. However, small dogs are just as cute and cuddly as any other dog, and I'm more than happy to walk/watch them as well!
A typical day
My own dog likes people but he really loves long walks through the parks in our neighborhood (Fort Tryon and Inwood Hill are pretty year-round, but particularly in the summer!), so if you're down to enjoy the pristine tranquility that our city's parks has to offer then I'm your guy! My dog and I walk 3-5 miles on our own everyday, so if distance isn't a problem for you, then it isn't a problem for me. However, as someone who primarily works as a video editor, sitting for hours on end isn't a problem for me, either, so if you're looking for someone to just keep you company during the middle of the day then I'm happy to oblige.
