Pet care experience
I am a dog mom to two very sweet cocker spaniels. We live in a very spacious pet-friendly apartment right in the heart of Scott's Addition. My pups are very mellow and get along with every dog they meet. My older girl is blind and is not as adventurous as my younger boy who loves to explore the James River trails with me. I have experience with special-needs dogs and have never met a dog I didn't love! I am a public school teacher so my schedule is more flexible June-August. Being a dog mom I know how important it is for your fur baby to get the best care while you are away. It is my goal to make sure your dog maintains their schedule and gets plenty of extra love while you are away.

Jacklyn took excellent care of our dog, Bear! We received daily updates and Bear enjoyed their walks and other furry company. We had a delay with our return trip and she was able to extend the boarding. Really appreciate Jacklyn’s flexibility and will absolutely consider again for dog care if available.
Jacklyn went above and beyond for our sweet Ruby Sue while we were gone for a week long vacation. She took her on long walks and adventures daily and sent photos to us each evening with an update. She had no problem doing a meet and greet with her pups and ours at the VMFA a few weeks prior to our vacation. Jacklyn is a great communicator, incredibly gracious, and she will be our #1 choice in the future. Would give her 6 stars if we could.
Jackie took excellent care of our golden retriever while we were on vacation. She sent us updates and photos throughout his stay, gave him extra love through a thunderstorm, and asked detailed questions to ensure that she was aware of his needs and habits. We look forward to Sheriff staying with Jackie (and his new bestie, her dog Stubby) again soon!
My golden was super happy and really enjoyed his time!

I do not crate my dogs. If I leave for a long period of time I will leave my dogs gated in my kitchen. I like to do what you feel is best for you dog and their safety and comfort is my top priority!

I love all dogs of every breed and size! I am more than happy to take any dog on a long walk or just check-in for some playtime and cuddles. However, I do live in an apartment with two dogs of my own. If you choose to board your dog with me he/she will need to get along with other dogs and cannot be extremely vocal. I will usually only board one other dog at a time and may make exceptions for two dogs from the same owner.
A typical day
We go for daily walks around my neighborhood. We always walk where there are sidewalks and lots of places to smell! I will take my younger dog for longer walks throughout the city or the James River Park System. I have lots of friends with dogs and we like to get our dogs together for doggy play dates in a back yard or a dog park!

Availability
During the school year I work from 7:45-4:00 each day. My morning availability is limited for drop-ins, but I am available most afternoons and weekends!
