Pet care experience
After fostering with Secondhand Hounds and dogsitting for over a year, I “foster failed” on Archie — a 35lb, mellow, friendly Tennessee Treeing Brindle who does sell with cats and dogs. While Archie is very friendly, he’s more of an introverted dog - dogs that can calmly (after intros) be in the same space with other dogs without often initiating play are the best fit for him.
Reviews
Jackie was wonderful! She was extremely flexible with my changing needs for care for my dog. She handled Chief’s wild and crazy entrance great! Jackie sent photo updates and Chief had the biggest smile all day. I definitely recommend Jackie for caring for your fir friends!
Jackie was awesome! She took care of our pup last minute and sent pictures of their visit. Punctual, quick to respond, and loved our pup!
Jackie was friendly and easy to work with! She was flexible with the pick up and drop off time which I very much appreciate! I also appreciated how her schedule was so that he was able to have a lot of support and companionship while we were gone! She kept me updated with how Duncan was doing over the 10 days while he was staying with her. He always appeared very safe and comfortable. It seemed like he was also having fun during his sit. Her energy was very positive and I’m sure Duncan picked up on that as well. Thank you Jackie for taking such good care of our boy!
Jackie was a good sitter. Friendly, prompt with communication and would use again.

I make an effort to stay home on days I dogsit — but if I have to leave them alone, you can bet that I’ll give them a cozy, safe space to hang out in. I’ll also probably leave Classical MPR on for them 😎 I typically bring Archie with me to work, so your dog would stay home (can do crated or uncrated per preference)

Information Jackie R. would like to know about your pet
I’d like to know about the dog’s energy level/needs, play style with other dogs, vocal level (since we do have neighbors downstairs), and temperament when home alone. *It is crucial that your dog is either crate trained or has a positive history of doing OK alone at other people’s houses. If the dog destroys something, I may request compensation.* Please be forthcoming about behavior ticks; some sitters are better able to handle some issues than others, so it’d be best for me, you and your dog to be honest about everything to ensure you have the right fit and everything goes smoothly. I need to know if the dog is likely to grab things they shouldn’t, has separation anxiety, potty issues, etc.
A typical day
For dog boarding, you should know we have a set of carpeted stairs to get to our third floor apartment in a triplex. We have space for indoor games, and I’m happy to take pups to the dog park if they’re up for socializing!

Availability
I work remotely from home, except for sporadic meetings. I’m usually able to stay here with the dogs for either the majority of the day, or full day. I walk Archie daily and would plan on bringing your pup along, unless they prefer/need to stay home!
