Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm, where we always had cats, dogs, and chickens. Over time we also had some pigs, goats, and even a cow. I was babysat as a child on a diary cow farm. I started working at a pet store when I was 18, moved onward to a dog kennel when I was 20, worked in an emergency animal hospital for just shy of two years and now I’m proud to say I’m with the nonprofit humane society! I personally have the most experience with dogs and cats, but also have experience with farm animals to an extent, some reptiles and some amphibious critters.

Extremely nice and communicated very well. Respected our house and kept it nice and clean. Took amazing care of our dog during our time away. We had a thunderstorm which our dog is terrified of and she comforted him the entire time as if he was her own dog.

I live on a farm, and everyday I prioritize having my dog outside as much as possible after work, and playing with him for at least half of that time. I usually cook for him (plain meat / some dog safe seasonings), and clean/fill his kongs and lick mats. My cat and I play together and lay down and snuggle, and I more or less revolve around them. If my dog needs to go out at 3am, then so be it. My cat wakes me up because he’s hungry? Etc. everyday varies but it’s usually based on what is the best possible for the animals in my life

Knowing if a dog is not vaccinated/ or is sick, injured, requires regular medication, are all very important to me! It makes things much easier and less stressful for everyone if I know what to expect when visiting
A typical day
I enjoy making baked dog treats, cooking for dogs (all of course so long as their diet restrictions allow), and filling interactive toys. Playing ball with a chuck it is fun too- and when there may not be enough room to play ball, we can play inside. Me and my dog love going to the nature reserves to walk on leash and smells all the new smells, and the dog park to meet up with friends. With my own dog we play hide and seek a lot!

I currently work on a contingent (as needed/ on call basis) in Dayton Ohio, at the vet hospital side of the humane society. Before being part time, I was full time for over two years! But it’s time to pursue some other dreams now.
