Pet care experience
After 14 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician, I went back to school for Master's work in the vet school at WSU. I am well qualified to provide medical treatments (injectable, topical and oral as well as ophthalmic and aural) for companion pets in their homes. I have experience with swimming dogs who are recovering from injury or surgery. If I observe signs of illness or injury I will seek veterinary attention as needed or as directed through Rover Vet assistance. I love to take pups for walks along the Olympic Discovery Trail or in the appropriate parks around Sequim and P.A. I enjoy exotics as well as mammals. I've cared for birds, lizards and we've had fresh-water aquaria for many years. Stinky or grubby pups can even get a bath - at your request or mine!

Jackie was a wonderful overnight sitter for my cats. They took to her right away, even the shy one, and she kept me updated with photos and check ins. I am happy to take dogs for walks on a leash. I prefer not to go to the dog parks off-leash areas out of safety concerns. I'm pretty strong, but am wary of walking multiple big dogs. If necessary, I will recruit my husband to join us.
A typical day
We are fortunate to be close to several different starting points on the Olympic Discovery Trail and several others. We can drive to a trail head if your pup wants to get out and stretch the legs beyond their own neighborhood. I love Dungeness and Robin Hill parks, and my husband and I live on ~3 acres surrounded by a six foot high fence with our two basset hounds and cats. Small, friendly dogs might enjoy visiting there as well for a change of scene.

Availability
My husband and I are both retired professionals and are happily living with our 2 basset hounds and 2 cats in our home in Port Angeles. I am available (barring extenuating circumstances) locally for pet and house sitting, as well as for drop-in visits for all pets-with or without exercise. I will perform treatments at the required intervals so I will "drop in" as often and for as long as is appropriate.
