PAST EXPERIENCES: I’ve spent my entire life around dogs of all breeds and sizes from chihuahuas to pit bulls and everything in between. My parents fostered stray dogs until they could find forever homes for them which is actually how I rescued my first pup and soon to be best friend back in 2012. The minute I saw her, I could sense her loyalty and uniqueness (she is blind in one eye). I knew she’d be harder to find a home for and ultimately decided to keep her myself. Most of my housemates that I’ve lived with in the past 10 years have had 1-2 dogs so I’m experienced with a multi-dog living situation (clashing personalities, energy levels, and potty schedules). Since my own dog was a rescue, she came with extra responsibilities (chronic ear infections, nausea, allergies, etc). I’m proficient in administering oral and ear medication and yes I know when your sneaky little friend hides the pill in their cheek and spits it out when you’re not looking. Been there, done that. CURRENT SITUATION: This is the first time I’ve lived in a home without any fur friends, but hopefully that’s going to change since I work from home with a flexible schedule. There is a small park in the community but I am able and willing to go to nearby dog parks if your dog is more social. COMMUNICATION: I am a firm believer in effective communication and transparency. You’ll receive plenty of pupdates on how your best friend(s) are doing since I know exactly what it’s like to be away from your little one(s) for a couple of days. TRAINING: Whether you want to crate train your pup or have them learn a new skill, I will continue to train and follow your pup’s daily routine while you’re away (positive reinforcement only). LIFESTYLE: I’m both sides of the spectrum and will match your pup’s energy level. I can be all cuddles on the couch or take them on moderate to strenuous hikes.
