A dog at heart looking for a friend

Pet care experience

Hey I’m Isabel! One thing to know about me is I am a HUGE animal lover. Whether it be a dog or an opposum, every animal has emotions and deserves to be treated with love. I’m even known to cry if an ant gets hurt. Needless to say, I will treat your fur babies like my own. I recently lost both my pets and would love to spend time caring for pets of others. I’ve trained and cared for animals since I was in 1st grade. I promise that your pets will be safe and happy under my supervision. I’m so excited to meet your dogs and/or cats and see all their unique personalities! I hope I get the honor to care for your fur babies very soon! I am taking college courses online at the moment, so I have complete availability to be there with your pets 😊 I am free everyday of the week to give your furry angels all my love! I care for your pets in the most loving way possible! Animals may not be your whole life, but they sure do make your life whole ❤️

Izzy review Unfortunately I do not recommend Izzy to care for your dogs. Izzy was very kind and polite, but there were a few issues that happened at our house while she was caring for our 2 dogs. I want to preface this review with clearly explaining we have a few cameras in our home. We have a camera that shows our front living room, another that shows into the dogs kennels which are located in the front living room, and a camera doorbell at our front door. The cameras are not hidden and are in plain sight. They are motion activated so it records a 30 second clip when it detects motion. We do not have any cameras in the rooms in the back of our house or in our backyard. Two major reasons that we would not book with her again was because one of our dogs ran out the front door because she carelessly left the front door open. Izzy did not mention this to us at all, we only know from seeing our dog bolt out the front door on the camera. She also had a guest in our home without permission. She let the guest in from the back door to avoid the front door camera and the front living room camera. We know she had a guest over because we heard a man speaking when watching the clips of our dogs playing alone in the front living room. The last couple of issues come from Izzy not reading the care instructions clearly. These could be seemingly small things, but when there were so many, it adds up and lead to us not recommending her. We use baby gates to separate the areas of our home to keep the dogs contained in certain rooms and we explained this to Izzy during the meet and greet. The gates were left open most of the time and the dogs were playing alone in the front living room, without Izzy in there with them. In the care instructions, we gave directions on how to leave the dogs with specific treats to use, as well as the command to get them to go to their kennels. Each time Izzy was telling the dogs to go to their kennels, she used the incorrect command and multiple phrases that the dogs did not understand, making the times she was leaving the house chaotic. She saying things like “Kennel up, go to your kennel, kennel kennel kennel” The command we use is simply “go to your room” and it is clearly written in quotations on the care instructions we provided for her . We also demonstrated the dogs responding to the “go to your room” command during the meeting greet. We give the dogs a treat each time they go to their rooms, and in the video clips we could see she was using a bag of our high value training treats and not the biscuits that were listed on the care instructions. The biscuits that we instructed her to use are in a clear plastic container and are in plain sight in the same area where the dogs are fed. The training treats that she was using was tucked in a drawer below that area. One of our dogs is six months old and sometimes has accidents. We explained that he is pretty good at letting us know when he wants to go outside but every once in a while he has an accident in the house. We set out the cleaning supplies for her to use just in case this happens. We noticed multiple stains left on the carpet and a different bottle of carpet cleaner that was from under the sink (not left out for her to use) was empty in the trash. One of the stains was very red in color. Either the stain was from the dogs and in that case a pee or poop that is a red color should be reported to us immediately. If it was not from the dogs and it was a stain from her, I would’ve appreciated communication about the issue. At the very end, we were traveling back and let her know what time we would be arriving and instructed her to leave the house key on the counter. She sent me a message asking about leaving the dogs out of their kennels since we would be back soon. I did not respond to her message in time because I was driving and when we arrived back home, the dogs were not in their kennels and none of the baby gates were closed so the dogs had free roam of our entire house. They were out alone for maybe 15 minutes before we got home, but the care instructions clearly say that they must be in their kennels when leaving the house. She lost the key to our front door, she left food and drinks in our fridge, the whole house had been heavily sprayed with air freshener and fabric refresher, and she burned a candle. It seems like like she was trying to cover a smell. She only sent 4 photos, and 1 video. I’m sure my dogs loved spending time with her and enjoyed the attention but unfortunately, there was too many issues to consider booking with her again.

First time using the app. Izzy was wonderful. Did everything I asked and repeatedly offered to do more. Very responsive. Sent regular photos and updates. I would give her my highest recommendation.

I DO NOT recommend anyone use Izzy as a sitter. I used her twice with no issues, but then on the third time watching my dog, she decided to drink while caring for him and was drunk the entire day!! (I have cameras, that she KNEW about...) She also smoked in my house. I am absolutely livid and distraught. My dog is an extreme escape artist and she was told this many times. I cannot believe someone would be so careless and care for a dog while intoxicated, especially one prone to escape! She could have easily lost my dog while on a walk (she was stumbling and literally falling all over my apartment, knocking things over and terrifying my skittish dog). She also left the door hanging open when getting food delivered and my dog almost got out, but thank goodness the delivery driver stopped him! No thanks to Izzy. I have many other complaints (lack of updates - even when requested multiple times, not walking the dog before leaving for the night, not playing enough with my dog - which was also requested at least a half dozen times, putting his harness on incorrectly, leaving the door hanging open, and not following clear written directions), but the drunkenness is the main one that people should really be made aware. I am shocked and saddened by her actions. She put my dog at risk, completely took advantage of me, my husband and our kindness and she could easily do this again and again in the future with other clients. She could lose someone else's dog. Please do NOT allow her to watch your pets.

Information Izzy R. would like to know about your pet

The more information, the better with me! They truly are your children and I want to know how to meet all their needs. I like to know if they take any medications, how they interact with other dogs when I walk them, their typical schedule, and anything that will help me to provide the best care for them! You never have to worry about seeming like a “helicopter parent” with me because I completely understand your deep love for them and ensuring that they are being properly cared for :)

A typical day

I love hiking, and bringing a dog or dogs along with me makes it that much more fun! My favorite place to take my doggy clients is Queeny Park because it’s very big and has a safe, walking path for pups (no high climbs or rocks). Fetch is always great to let dogs get out all their energy and tug of war seems to be a favorite with most of my clients. I am open to any kind of physical activity that makes your fur baby happy!
