Hi! My name is Ivy and my husband is Matt. Our other little family member is our golden retriever Gracie 🐶 We started Rover when we needed to find someone to look after our pup. While our main sitter is incredible 🙌🏼 we’ve had less incredible experiences on Rover as well 😟 What we learned is that the main reason for our disappointment has generally centered on us not having set adequate expectations on just how we would want our Gracie to be cared for. So let us try and be as detailed as possible 🤓 I work from home three out of four weeks a month and my husband works from home full time. That means that at least one of us, and usually both of us, will be at home the entire time your pup is with us 🤩 We generally wake up between 6-7AM, feed Gracie and let her out to potty and play in the back yard. We have a large fenced in back yard 🎾 and it wouldn’t be possible for your pup to escape this enclosed space. There is a doggy door that Gracie uses to access the backyard whenever she pleases. If your pup is unable to use the door or if you would prefer that your pup is only let outside while supervised, we can close the doggy door and let your pup out intermittently throughout the day. We take Gracie on two walks a day, one in the morning ☀️ and another in the evening 🌙 If desired, your pup is more than welcome to join us! These walks are generally 1-2 miles each but can be tailored to the needs of your pup. Your pup would not 🙅🏻‍♀️ be off leash at any time while outside our home. In the mornings, we have some doggy friends Gracie meets up with at a local playground. If you’d like, your pup would be more than welcome to join in on these adventures as well! Gracie is well socialized and accustomed to being around dogs of different ages, sizes and personality types 🐕🐩🐕‍🦺 True to the nature of golden retrievers, Gracie is friendly, intelligent and sometimes lazy. If your pup is older and less playful, Gracie will match your pup’s personality and leave him/her alone. If your pup is smaller and likes to play, Gracie lays on her back and lets the small dogs climb on her belly while she pretends to chase them away (it’s really the cutest thing you’ve ever seen 😍) If your pup is energetic and a little bigger, Gracie will wrestle and run with your pup all day! 🐾 Gracie’s ability to read a room is one of our favorite things about her! We understand that some pups have certain dietary restrictions, allergies and/or need medication or supplements 🍎 None of this is a problem for us as were accustomed to Gracie’s sensitive belly. Gracie is not food aggressive, but let us know if your pup is more of a grazer so we can monitor Gracie. She’s a bit of an eater 🍔 and might try and sneak a bite or two 🤷🏻‍♀️ During the day, we bring Gracie’s dog bed into the office where we work and Gracie generally hangs out with us and sleeps 😴 If you have a crate or dog bed, we would do the same for your pup. We allow Gracie on our bed and sofa and your pup would be welcome on our furniture as well. Our number one goal is that your pup feels at home and like family 🥰 If you have specific care instructions 📝 for your pup, please send them our way!
