Before I was even able to say the word dog, I was obsessed with them. I have always had dogs in my family and have raised them in all stages of their lives—from 8 week old puppy to 13 year old geriatric. Each dog has impacted me differently, and has taught me how to manage all types of temperaments, sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I have enjoyed activities such as hiking, walking, or just lounging around. The relationship I have with them is incredibly strong. When I was twelve years old, I created an Instagram account for my two dogs at the time, and over the last five years it has grown to thousands of followers. Since I was young, I have always been asked to watch dogs, whether it be for friends, family, or by word of mouth. When I was in middle school I regularly dog-sat for my neighbor who rescued older dogs. At any given time, I would watch four of her dogs, of all different breeds and ages. I know how to give insulin and, if needed, am willing to learn how to give any other type of medication. I am incredibly knowledgeable and patient when it comes to dogs--I know almost every dog breed and have experience with training and handling them. Dogs are such an important part of my life, and since starting college last year, I have missed regularly spending time with them. Dogs are also a major stress reliever for me. Life is busy and constantly changing. Whenever I am around dogs I always feel more ready to handle what comes my way. I am a full time student at CU Boulder. My availability would be afternoons during the weekday and all day during the weekends. Depending on my schedule and workload, I am flexible. Since I live in an apartment that does not allow dogs, I will not be able to allow dogs to stay at my home, but I would be happy to visit them in their own space.
