Dog trainer, sitter, and exerciser!

Pet care experience

I'm available to do house sitting for dogs of all types, and also have a lot of training experience so it is like you are paying for a sitter/trainer all in one package. My masters degree trained me in operant conditioning and the use of positive reinforcement, and if you tell me your training goals I can help you achieve them. I am also knowledgeable about separation anxiety and other behavioral problems and can help alleviate these in your dog and recommend training regimens and diet/husbandry changes that can help ensure your dog's welfare. I am experienced with puppies, dogs with behavioral problems, and giving dogs medication, and I can easily handle large dogs that pull. I also have a lot of experience caring for cats, horses, and rabbits and am happy to farm-sit (additional rates may apply for extensive farm care). All of my job experiences pertain to caring for animals- in addition to working as a dogsitter/walker/trainer, I have worked as a zookeeper, and also worked at many horse barns. I have superb references. Here is a testimonial from certified dog trainer Adria Karlsson (website ........): Issy is great! She has been walking our dogs for the last four or five months (for the last trimester of my pregnancy and for now since we have a newborn). She also pet sit for both our dogs and three cats while we were away for two and half weeks over Christmas and a couple of weekends here and there. I'm a dog trainer at the MSPCA and am extremely particular about how people interact with my dogs. One of them is especially high energy and a bit of a nervous wreck as well- so I need someone who is really superb with animals. Issy has been everything we could have hoped for- she has never missed a walk, texts to confirm that she's here when she's pet sitting, has been responsive when I've texted her about pet sitting on weekends and such, and really has treated the dogs like her own pets when she is here. They are super happy to see her and she is always very positive with them. I couldn't give her a higher recommendation! Daily routine for dogs in my care: Dogs in my care will have tons of opportunities to run and play (supervised). I run dogs 3-4 days a week as part of my dog-sitting routine (unless the dog doesn't want to run). I will also bring some of my own dog toys to give your dog some exciting new enrichment. I have a very friendly and extraordinarily well-behaved mutt who I am happy to bring with me on stays or not depending on your preference. He is great with other dogs of all sizes and temperaments and is a great source of companionship when their parents are gone. Since I only work very part-time, the dogs can be with me for the better part of the day, and dogs under my care will rarely be left alone for more than two or three hours. I also can groom/bathe your dog and do nail grinding/clipping for a small additional fee of $10. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since day one. Since college, I have worked extensively as a dog walker and dog sitter as well as assisting with training of some of my friends dogs. Nothing makes me happier than spending time with dogs, and since rescuing my own, I continue to find dog ownership to be one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Meet my pets I have a very friendly and energetic 3 year old dog (Finn), and a horse. Finn is respectful of other dogs whether they are older and don't feel like playing or they are younger puppies that jump all over him. I am happy to bring him on stays or can also accommodate short stays and not bring him. My experience administering medication I have sat for several dogs and cats who required daily pills and I'm also comfortable giving IM injections since this is something I routinely do for my horse.

Isabelle is very kind and loves animals. Her dog Finn is happy and well behaved. Bogey had a wonderful time running with Finn on the farm. I highly recommend Isabelle for dog sitting your furry, 4 footed best friend

Isabelle took great care of our puppy Titan. He loved playing with her dog Finn and knowing he was happy and having fun allowed us to enjoy our vacation.

Hazel enjoyed a great stay with Isabelle. She got along well with Finn and got out to the dog park. Isabelle was easy to communicate with and has a clear love and knowledge of dogs. Thanks!

Issy is a great sitter! She kept in contact with us on our trip and was very accommodating to our schedule. Our dogs came home happy and tired, they napped for the rest of the day. We look forward to having her watch them again!

Information Isabelle C. would like to know about your pet

I would want to know his/her daily routine and preferences, any health problems, demeanor around other dogs and animals, and who to contact in case of emergency. I love all dogs, and have sat for many different breeds of dogs, however, I especially love active dogs that I can go running with.

A typical day

I can tailor an exercise program specifically to each dog I sit for, and am used to accommodating extremely high energy dogs that need a lot of exercise (like my dog), but can also accommodate couch potatoes :) If desired, I will run dogs for 30 minutes 3-4 days a week on leash. And will walk dogs for 30 minutes a day, additional walks may cost extra. Dogs will be brought outside for potty breaks as often as desired by owners. For dogs that are trained off-leash, they can also accompany me to the horse farm I keep my horse at and go on trail rides with my horse. Lastly, I am happy to bring friendly dogs to dog parks.
