Animal Diaries Pet Care & Training

Pet care experience

*FYI* PLEASE READ- I have 1 dog (Pomsky), 1 cat, and a child in household. Your pet MUST be child/dog & or cat friendly for boarding & doggy day care services. Please do not contact me for boarding/doggy daycare if your pet would not do well in this environment. If you’re unsure, we can set up a meet and greet. As an alternative option I can also go to your residence for drop-ins, or dog walking services. Long term or short term options available. I care for Dogs, Cats and everything in between! My services include: Drop in visits for dogs/cats/fish/reptiles/birds/farm animals Dog walking Pick up/Drop off Services for pets Nail Clipping & Claw Capping House sitting with advanced booking notice Basic puppy/dog obedience training Horse training and conditioning. Experience: I worked as a dog walker for an agency in Oak Park IL. for 7 years. We received house keys, alarm codes, key codes, and were entrusted with great responsibility. I worked 2 years at Pet Vets Animal Hospital in Oak Park IL. as an assistant. I worked 2.5 years at a stables providing horse back riding lessons, trail rides, and pony parties with farm animals. I have years of experience of animal care, and love for your pet. I also know how to administer medications, insulin, and other basic injections if your pet needs special treatments in this regard. I am also CPR and First Aid certified through PetSaver and privately insured. About this sitter: I have 15+ years of animal care experience. I have had every type of critter you can imagine. Dogs, Cats, Ducks, Chickens, Roosters, Horses, Hamsters, Rabbits, Fish, Ferrets, Birds, Snakes, Iguanas, Turtles, Frogs, etc. I spoil all animals with the love and care they deserve. Yet, am confident and disciplined for the pets still in training. In my household, when we look into the eyes of an animal we see a friend we feel a soul. Why I love animal care: I love all animals of all shapes, sizes, and breeds! Animals are a special gift to humanity. On top of working in the animal care industry, a lot of my hobbies, travels, and experiences usually involve animals as well! I am a proud and avid Horse rider/owner. My experience administering medication: I worked at Pet Vets Animal Hospital in Oak Park, IL over a span of 2 years awhile back, and therefore I know how to properly restrain/lift, bathe/groom/clip nails, and provide medications as well as any insulin or basic injections. I currently perform Pet Care and Training services Full time. I book up quickly, weeks/months in advanced (especially for holidays). I can not guarantee a routine schedule without prior agreement and consultation. Please contact me for availability or to get on my waiting list.

We had to fly out of town unexpectedly and with our daughters out of town, were panicking about who could take care of our4-legged family member. She's a 14 yr old Std Schnauzer who has back problems (in spite of major surgery a year ago). So we needed her in a situation where the caregiver could understand her challenges with stairs so she didn't risk further damage. Having used Rover years ago, I came back online. After reading a lot of reviews, Isabel stood out for great reviews, return clients and excellent experience. She was more than we had hoped for. She FaceTimed me and showed how she ensures their are no issues as new dogs join the household - gates dividing areas, she understood that sometimes dogs need a 'break' from others, lots of different bed types for them to choose to lie on. THEN she was very accommodating about did we want to drop off or for a nominal fee, she could pick her up. I was impressed with everything she did (& her understanding of dogs' needs) and on top of it, she sent us more photos and videos than we needed BUT credit to her as she wanted us to see how our girl was eating well, getting along (sleeping with) the different dogs. Also, great shock to us, but no issues with her cat (which she will restrict to upstairs if dogs are not cat friendly). Don't know if our girl thought she was just another dog due to her relaxed demeanor or whether she just decided to be chill with her. I am VERY picky about who I would entrust my baby to and I can't say enough good things about her. Jynx gives her a 5-dogbone rating too. Woof Woof Woof Woof Woof! Carolyn F/Hinsdale

Safety, trust & environment

100% of my focus goes to the animals and my animal care business. Mon-Fri I do all my Dog Walks and Drop in visits 8am-3pm. Any boarders or doggy daycare clients I have in home during the 8am-3pm hours, are tended to and cared for by my partner Marc. Marc works from home full time. So wether it be me or Marc, there is always someone home. I also have 1 dog and a cat. So the care of my own animals fits seamlessly in with the care of our guest animals. In my home I only take up to 5-8 clients at a time. This way any animals in my care can all receive equal amounts of play/pets/attention without feeling overwhelmed or over stimulated by large groups of pets (like in a kennel or boarding facility.) This is designed to be more personalized for each individual pet, allowing your pet to feel they are apart of a small pack and family! Animals are never left unattended outside. They are always properly leashed/harnessed & collared. There is always supervision. I also have several different crates, pens, and baby gates to separate during feeding times or as needed.

Information Isabel C. would like to know about your pet

Everything! Are they friendly and sociable with other people/kids? Do they get a long with other pets? Are they leash trained? Are they obedient trained? Are they reactive or have any aggression? Any struggles with anxiety? Do they need free run of the house, or do you prefer them to be crated? Are they prone to accidents? What's their personality like? Do they like to be pet? Have any allergies? Need any medications/insulin/ or injections? What type of food are you providing, and how many times a day do they need to be fed? Can they be given treats? What is their bathroom break routine and schedule? Are they litter trained (for cats)? What is the name of their regular vet, and where is the vet located? Emergency contact information? In case of emergency, would you like CPR & First aid techniques to be administered? I will go over every detail comprehensively with you or if you prefer to write it down on a list that helps as well. I just like to get a general run down of your own personal routine/schedule with your pup/cat; so I may mimic and recreate the same bond you would provide as the owner.

A typical day

For outcall bookings (in your home/at your place), I will accommodate any special requests you have. Wether this be slow feeders, kongs, puzzles, treats, fetch, walks, training/obedience practice routines you’re already following, etc. I offer similar care for my In home services (in my household/at my place) and lots of outdoor time in my yard. I also have special doggy puzzles for dogs who need lots of mental stimulation. I do allow animals on furniture for the more relaxed dogs (unless you request otherwise).
