Pet care experience
I am a dog person at my core (although not the kind that actively dislikes cats - I just love dogs more 😂). I grew up with dogs and had dogs all through my 20's in rural MA, and now have a young staffy rescue. I have experience with all different kinds of pet care, including house sitting, administering medication, getting older dogs to stay mobile, making sure younger dogs are getting enough exercise, navigating a range of ages and energies in the same house at once, basic training with rescues (I have had three), helping to re-home dogs who simply could not stay matched with their owners. I am not afraid of slightly “challenging” dogs—I know a little extra TLC can go a long way. I am attentive and responsible, and can’t wait to meet your dog(s)! (I don't take many pictures of myself in my personal life, so the photos I have on this profile are of the dogs I've been privileged to have in my life. Feel free to ask me anything about them!)

Irene was great! Really responsive and easy to communicate with. Flexible and understanding when I was late getting into town and dropping off my dog. Sissy was happy and well taken care of. Would definitely book with Irene again.
Irene was great. She arrived exactly when she said she would, followed all our instructions, took care of our dog Josie and our house perfectly. She was also really good at communicating, sending photos of Josie and replying whenever I messaged. I would absolutely recommend Irene and we'll be booking her again.

I don’t bring pets to my home unless we’ve already established they’re a good match with my dog. But otherwise I’m very good at following instructions, and as someone who has trained a couple rescues, I know the importance of sticking to the routine.

Would like to know any and all behavioral quirks. If your dog likes to bark or make noise, that’s helpful info for me ahead of time. I’m on the third floor of a walk up, so older dogs with unhappy hips may not love my place. Happy to take care of anyone, but best to be prepared! As far as breed goes, I have a special love for Pitbull and lab mixes, but really everyone is welcome!
A typical day
If your doggie is down, we’ll get out of town to explore some hiking! I’m happy to play fetch, go swimming, even do some training if you leave instructions for what you’ve been working on.

I am self employed and work from home with a very flexible schedule. With my own dog, we get up and outside first thing, and then longer walks or fetch sessions during the day.
