I have grown up with dogs - Pitbulls, Dalmatians, Pinscher... they have all been part of my upbringing. I am currently training my dog in agility training and I know a lot about dog psychology! I have limited my profile to board up to medium size dogs but I am open to having bigger dogs that are a good fit for apartment living. I currently have a Westie who is a very active and joyful! She's very well beahved and is used to having friends over. Her best friend is a French Bulldog rescue who do not get along well with other dogs, except Polly! We have hosted him many times and Polly loves having someone to keep her company, even if the friend won't give her attention! Our routine is one walk in the morning, dog park or regular park around midday, a walk to the park around 5pm followed by another outdoor play time session and a final bed time toilet break. We are two people living in a 2.5-bedroom apartment of 1200 sqf. Plenty of space for the dog to run and play indoors as well as we have a dog park in our building. All the dogs that stay with us love going to the rooftop to enjoy the dog park! We have different toys, a tent, three pillows throughout the apartment. Everything that Polly eats will be served to your dog - treats, chews, food -, unless asked not to. For some reason we noticed that the dog that have stayed with us like to try Polly's food and we allow them. I am not cheap with Polly and her toys and foods and I won't be with your dog. Polly is great at sharing and I believe it is because of this attitude of equality that we establish with her and her friends. We do what we do for our dog for love and it will be the same with your dog, that’s why we prefer to choose dogs that get along well with another small and active dog. I am not the type of sitter that charged every small extra service. I will return your dog in the same condition as it came to us. For example, Luna (M’s dog - see the review) has come to us many times and many times she rolled on mud. We even went to the dog beach and she needed a bath right after. I asked M to pick her up an hour later since I don't think its fair to return your dog dirtier than it came to me. She allowed to bath Luna (free of charge!) and I think this is the least I could have done to help. We usually take one dog at a time, unless it's an emergency. Then we contact both parties to make sure you're ok with that. It only happened one time that we boarded more than one dog at a time. We live super close to Hart's dog park - literally 2 min away. Guadalupe River park is two blocks away and we do daily trips to different parks in town. I do have some clients outside Roover (in fact, most of the petsitting jobs comes from outside Rover), and can give more references if requested.
