Pet care experience
At the age of 22 I got myself a beautiful chocolate lab that I raised and trained myself and through professional services. He grew to be the best family dog we’ve ever had. He was a service dog for autism and ptsd and made several visits to children hospitals and wounded warrior project. After 10 years of love and service, he passed away last year due to cancer. Because of him, I take care of every pupper the same way I did mine. Love, attention, inclusion and with a focus on positive re-enforcement rather than abrasive negative feedback. For me, Dog sitting, boarding, and grooming is ,and has been for several years, a full time profession. My availability is typically very open and I’m never in need of assistance as my husband, Joshua, is always around. Especially if I can’t be home for some reason. Joshua is Rover approved and just as experienced as I am. ☺️ I have reliable transportation, and enjoy visiting dog parks with puppers only if the owner is comfortable with it. My home is very inclusive. It’s called fur-niture for a reason right?😅 At least that’s how I see it lol I accept non spayed/neutered pets. I am very transparent so if something isn’t working out or I don’t feel entirely comfortable with a situation regarding your pet, I will inform you as soon as possible. Same goes if I feel your pet is too uncomfortable in my home (or yours). Clear, direct communication is key and no one likes wasting their time, money, or gas on something that could have been addressed sooner. As for same day bookings, I ask that you notify me at least 2-3 hours prior to when you need my services. I also understand life can be very unpredictable sometimes so I will do my best to accommodate very last minute service requests as I am, for the most part, pretty flexible.
Reviews
Ingrid and her husband were a pleasure to deal with! It was my first time ever leaving My Duchess with someone and I was pretty nervous about it but she was very reassuring and I feel like she actually cared about my feelings and concerns.
We always have a great experience when we use Ingrid! She sends us lots of pictures and it’s clear they spoil our fur baby rotten! 😊
Wonderful service!
Great job! Would definitely use again.

The way I handle Drop in Visits is different than how I handle boarding. I don’t just assume responsibility for your doggo. I assume responsibility for your home as well. If your pupper makes a mess in your home it gets into the trash, etc I will absolutely clean it up and put your home back in order. I’m a stickler for the rules (I blame my many years served in the Navy) so I will want to discuss boundaries, do’s & don’t’s, and a clear understanding of your expectations for your pupper’s care and needs as well as your home, keys, locks, etc. I provide plenty of pictures, videos, and updates/visit reports.

Diet, allergies, meal schedule, medications and behavioral quirks like separation anxiety are things I like to know right away so that I can get a clear picture mentally on how to accommodate to you and your pet’s comfort.
A typical day
I won’t try to sell you a sunshine and rainbows perception of me. Mornings are not my friend. I get up early for my children to prepare them for school, I get about a full cup of coffee down before my brain can get into gear for the day around 8-8:30 am. By the time 10am hits I’m in my normal flow and go go go energetic self. I typically enjoy sitting outside after the kids go to bed around 9pm. I’ll enjoy the night for a couple hours and then head to bed for some Netflix and cuddles until I fall asleep.

Availability
Since K-9 care is my full time job, my routine usually consists of many puppers exited to go outside. While the puppers are doing their business, I wake my children up for school, get them ready for school, send them out the door and then I let the puppers back inside. I make my coffee, complete basic house chores, which truth be told, usually ends up in me procrastinating and playing with the puppers for several hours. 😬 It is what it is 🤷🏻♀️ 😅
