Hello everyone. My name is Iceis and I am a vet student at Royal Veterinary College. After high school, I’ve spent a total of 1.5 years volunteering at an animal shelter as a dog walker and a vet assistant. Afterwards, I worked at a doggy daycare and boarding facility for two years as a dog play group leader. Our responsibilities included mediating dog play, basic training commands, creating fun enrichment, dog walking, and grooming. I also spent a year total working at two dog and cat general practice clinics as a vet assistant, in which one of them engaged in stress-free handling. Additionally, I worked at a horse farm at my old university for two years. During this time, I became a Foal and Mare Manager Intern where my main responsibility was to train two foals and care for two pregnant mares. I hope to become a behavior specialist and I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement and non-forceful, stress-free handling tactics. I love learning about each animal’s individuality and how I can provide better enrichment and fun into their lives!
