Pet care experience

I've raised and trained dogs since I was 6. From farm dogs to city dogs, I've been a source of aid or advice for friends and family.

Hugh is fantastic! He is thoughtful, responsive and thanks our boxer in long walks. So lucky we found him

Hugh was communicative, friendly, and responsible. I’d love to have him pet/house sit again!

Hugh is an excellent dog owner and was a great example for me to feel confident to get my own dog. He is very attentive, disciplined and active with his dog. Beyond his dog skills, he is a very kind and thoughtful person who places others well being and interest above his own when need be.

Safety, trust & environment

I am loving to my own dog, and firm when needed for training purposes. I always make sure to have an animals' attention when working with them. I'm careful to give dogs outside time before I have to leave them alone. I always make sure they have enough water to get them through the period of time I won't be around them. As for food, every animal has a different schedule/routine that I am amenable to meeting.

Information Hugh R. would like to know about your pet

Every dog is different. Some are super friendly toward all humans and dogs, but usually dogs are selective. This is normal. Let me know what your dog's eccentricities are - in attitude, play, motivation, etc. - and I can negotiate our engagement accordingly.

A typical day

Dogs need mental and physical engagement. We can work on command words, play fetch, even wrestle a bit if your dog enjoys that type of play. Activities should always be case by case, but my proximity to Marymoor's off-leash dog park makes it a staple for my dog and I. If dogs are better on their own, I know many local hikes that are dog-accessible.

I currently work full-time in a condensed work week that gives me four free days a week. I also have a four-year old aussie shepherd mix that gets along great with other dogs. I can fit most any pet care in to my weekly routine given enough notice.
