Proficient-Flexible-Energetic-Savvy

Pet care experience

***ASK ABOUT OUR NEW PERSONALIZED PRICING STRUCTURE (circa 2024), which covers various levels of service to choose the right care for your animal as well as your budget*** I (Jordan) am self-employed, so I set my own schedule and am readily available for anything. My largest portion of work is in animal care, especially dogs (but I'm up for almost anything). Therefore, I am a professional that takes this seriously; I'm not a random student that does this on the side for fun or extra cash. Your animals deserve the utmost care and attention from whoever interacts with them, and I'd love to be that option for you. I have great back-up support from my partner (Hollyanne) when necessary: for having fun with your fur-baby and giving them lots of love! We have a fenced in yard, but love hiking, walking and whatever your pet is up for! I have been sitting pets for 20 years+, and grew up with my own, from dogs and cats to fish and hamsters (my partner even raised chickens and ducks!). I am very intuitive to animal needs, and I am happy to take on a list of instructions or go with the flow with the most laid-back parents. NOTE: I am not a remote worker; I am self-employed (and mostly in animal care). Therefore, I do work from home at times, but I am not strictly working from home. I am often driving around Raleigh and/or visiting other clients. If your expectation is that someone must stay with your animal the majority of the day (guaranteed 8-14hrs+ of hang time or less than 3-4hrs away from the house at a time), please mention that upon request. I can quote you using our top-tiered pricing to guarantee my time in your home. 👍🏼 ***BOARDING & DAYCARE*** Currently, we do not offer boarding or daycare services as we do not have the right living situation to accommodate for that at the moment (roommates with 2 dogs [plus our own], so too many in the house). There may be opportunities that arise that allow us to be able to offer select boarding or daycare in the future (when roommates are out of town with their dogs). We have one dog that is pet-friendly, and our doors may be open to support yours! We love all pups, big or small and are happy to take on high-energy dogs who require more exercise. For daycare and boarding, I am definitely open to having more than one dog/animal at a time (capacity and schedule permitting) when we are offering those services. If you’re not sure about my availability, feel free to message me. 🙂 NOTE: When booking boarding/house-sitting through the app, Rover only counts the NIGHTS that I am on the job, unless times for pick-up (PU) and drop-off (DO) are specified. As it does not consider the final DAY of care (a possible day-care assignment, especially in length and responsibilities), we ask that you determine specific times for PU and DO to more accurately determine the cost of our service (and to make sure you are charged fairly/we are paid accordingly). ***FOLLOW-UP/M&G*** Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about booking assignments. We can always discuss them over a meet and greet (M&G). I usually have time for M&Gs after 5:30pm or so, but I can always make myself available between 9-10:30am and 2-5pm on certain days, if necessary. Mondays and Tuesdays are often my slower days. For efficiency's sake, I typically have regular communication times (8am-11am // 5-7pm) in order to spend as much time focused on my work, which hopefully will include your bud(s) in the near future. I will not respond past 8pm, unless it is absolutely urgent. I may respond outside of these times, but those are the times I typically have a moment to correspond. 😁

So grateful to Jordan's thoughtfulness! Being apart from my pup is incredibly challenging for me, but knowing that he's being taken care of by someone who really understands and cares about dogs has helped alleviate so much of my anxiety! Jordan is very communicative about expectations and genuinely wants to know as much information as possible about pet and their unique needs/likes. Thank you so much, Jordan!!

This was our first time away, leaving Molly with a sitter/caretaker and not kenneling her. She did a great job and clearly received great care. Photos were a great boost to see how she responded to them. Would definitely work with them again, 100%.

Nothing but positive things to offer about my experience meeting Jordan. I look forward to coordinating with him more and more. My dog loved spending time with him, too.

Jordan was absolutely fantastic with our pups! Both were very happy when we got back from our trip and the pictures he sent were great to receive, it was lovely to get some action shots of him playing with the dogs. Cannot recommend Jordan enough!!

Safety, trust & environment

***SAFETY & OUR ENVIRONMENT*** I am consistent, observant, caring but firm if necessary, adaptable depending on the needs/personality of the animal, and willing to follow any regiment needed for animals in training (or specific wants from the owners). I make sure to create an environment where pets feel safe and loved, and definitely want to come back (or see me again). As stated before, I am an animal care professional, not a part-time animal lover. I know how to react and respond in emergency situations, and I recognize the signs from other animals and owners that help me avoid these situations further. I take the initiative to be aware and present in order to make the right decisions for your animal's safety, comfort, and fun. I am not afraid to tell other owners (and even their animals) what's what. Your animal and their environment matter to me.

Information Hollyanne & Jordan C. would like to know about your pet

***YOUR PETS*** My partner and I are experienced with large and small dogs with many different personality types, so let us know what yours is like. We most definitely would like to know about any sort of reactivity or resource/space guarding upfront, so that we can be prepared to take the time needed to build a healthy relationship with your animal. I have had several assignments with animals that can't be around other people, but we've worked it out to have a safe and loving bond. However, we will need to know specifics around the situation to be able to be fully prepared. Hollyanne works from home (emergency/over-capacity support), and I am in and out of the house, so your little one will get plenty of attention, but if they bark a lot or get separation anxiety, let us know so we can help or adapt accordingly. We have a lot of small staircases in our home, so if your dog must sleep in our room, this may be hard. We do have a relatively accessible downstairs though, so older dogs or those with injuries are more than welcome! For the most part, we can accommodate any dog and support with medications, space or other needs- just let us know how to help you best!

A typical day

***TYPICAL DAY*** We walk the sidewalks of (y)our neighborhood, enjoy time on the Greenway/parks, or if you're up for it, head to the trees for a nice hike. We make time for play and rest. We build confidence in and strong relationships with our friends through various activities and methods, like allowing your animal to explore within a calm and safe environment. Our backyard is the perfect place to watch birds, sniff flowers, run around, or just chill. We have plenty of tree-cover for lounging when it's too hot or rainy (and even a kiddie pool for water lovers), but we also enjoy a good snuggle-up, movie night. We are happy to play fetch and tug of war so you can use up all of your amazing energy (or take it slow and enjoy some good pets for our older or more lethargic friends)! If your interested in some more advanced enrichment/training or other additional services (such as animal healthy lickmats/frozen bones, obedience training, confidence building, etc), just ask, and we'll see what we can do for you and your pack. We're here to keep your animal enriched and satisfied. What does your bud(s) like to do?

***SCHEDULE*** I am self-employed, so my schedule is flexible/self-determined. We work on a first come, first serve basis, and we book until we are at capacity (i.e. no more than 4 dogs for boarding, including Musanze AND no more than 2 house-sitting assignments, depending on distance as well as boarding situations at our house). I am also available on weekends. If you're unsure about a house-sit (HS), my standard level of care is 3-4 visits per day at 1-3 hours each, depending on my other work during the day/week. If you'd care for me to stay the night, just let me know, and we can discuss details around that. I am comfortable with doing what I can to ease that worry/anxiety to make house-sitting work for you. I have regular walking clients in the morning/early afternoon throughout the standard work week. I may also have events that I help facilitate/support or other work assignments (lessons in photography and music/"odd jobs") in the afternoons and evenings. However, I set my own schedule, and I am as transparent as possible to make sure you know my capacity as well as whatever I am taking on during our potential assignments. Be aware that if I take on 2 HS assignments at once; they may require the same level of care/service. This means that I will often be in/out of the house traveling to the other client as well as staying for intentional enrichment & hang time. This might cut down the time I spend with your animal, but I can guarantee that I will do more in 30min than most do in 1hr (or however much time we decide). Your animal will be satisfied and contently awaiting our next hang. Regardless, I always allow my clients (and potential clients) to be a part of this decision process to ensure your pack or pride receives the care it deserves and that you expect. Your fur children will always be priority because they should be!
