I have worked at an animal shelter for 6 and a half years where I gained a background in both the behavior and medical field. I have owned my own pets, both cats and dogs and almost always multiple at one time, for the past 10 years! I also worked briefly at a doggy daycare for about half a year. I have lived with animals since I was as young as I can remember and, even though I wasn't their primary caregiver at that point, I have learned how to love and treat animals almost before I could walk. I have been around dogs (and animals in general) of almost any kind! I could take care of small pets such as rabbits or Guinea pigs too!
